Fort William Library

Fort William Library Lochaber Libraries provides the community with access to IT equipment, weekly events for adults and We also provide collections to the Small Isles.

Across Lochaber there are 6 community libraries: Ardnamurchan Library, Caol Library, Fort William Library, Kinlochleven Library, Knoydart Library and Mallaig Library. We also have a mobile library service delivering a comprehensive library service to other areas of Lochaber and Badenoch. Fort William is the biggest community library located on Fort William High Street. The library provides access

to a wide range of print material, IT equipment, weekly events for adults and children, as well as special events such as Author visits. Ardnamurchan and Kinlochleven Libraries are located with their respective community campuses alongside schools and community centres. They to provide access to a wide range of print materials, regular events for adults and children as well as special events. Caol Community Library is located on the new community campus in Caol. They provide access to a wide range of print material, regular events and special events. Mallaig Community Library is located with the Community Centre in Malliag providing wide access to print materials, IT equipment and regular and one off events. Knoydart Library is a small library on the idyllic Knoydart Peninsula. This library provides an essential service to the local community and tourist population.

🌞Why not celebrate the start of spring by 'borrowing' some lovely native seeds from us here at Fort William Library to take home and plant.

🪴Grow them on, save some seeds and bring any spare seeds back to the seed library.

🌷If you have any spare seeds, donations to the library are always very welcome!

✨It’s Highlife Highland Libraries Fundraising Week next week, 9 - 14 March 2026!✨

😍Please do come and show your support for your local library and why not take part in some of the fun activities at the same time… Here are some of the activities happening at Fort William Library:

❓Love a quiz? Try our tricky book title anagrams. £1 to enter with a prize up for grabs.

🧱Kids might want to have a go at guessing the number of Lego bricks in the jar.

🍬Treat yourself to some tasty tablet, a beautiful handmade card or some very cute crafty items.

🍰If you are free on Thursday 13th March, do stop by for a cuppa and a slice of cake from 11am – 3pm, drop in any time. Donations welcome!
