Queen St works to begin as new George Square takes shape.

Junction with St Vincent Pl will close on Aug 4 for install of new granite stones, widened pavements & new traffic lights.

Footways will remain open. Access for service vehicles maintained.

Join Glasgow Canal Co-op on Saturday 1 August for Glasgow Canal Quest, a FREE family-friendly adventure along the Forth & Clyde Canal as part of the celebrations surrounding the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

From 10am–5pm, the canal will come alive with activities, performances, sports, food, culture and community spirit.

While our Family Friendly Heritage Boat Tours are fully booked, there’s still plenty to enjoy throughout the day, including:

🚣 Watersports and activity sessions
🎭 Live performances and creative activities
🎶 Music and entertainment
🍔 Delicious food and refreshments
