🌟 Story and Craft Time is on every Saturday for crafty kiddies aged 3-6 from 10.30-11am
We will read up to three picture books followed by a quick craft/colouring in session.
Free Event - get your ticket from the Help Desk from 9.30am on the day!

🌟 Don’t forget to book your spots for our upcoming Bookbinding Workshop this month!

Saturday 26th Sept
2-4pm
£8.50 per person

We also have loads of regular events and activities running throughout the month - absolutely FREE!

🌟 Book Club is on Wed 2nd, Thurs 3rd, and Sat 5th from 2.30-3.30pm - come for a chat and grab the next book!
🌟 Sketch Club is meeting on Friday, 11th from 1.30-2.30pm.
Bring your materials and sketchbook - no fees, just fun!
🌟 Chatter Books Kid’s Book Club is meeting on Saturday, 5th from 11.10-11.50am for kids aged 7-11

Discover the fascinating craft of bookbinding in this relaxed, hands-on workshop.

Saturday 26th Sept
2-4pm
£8.50 per person

Whether you'd like to learn how to repair well-loved books or create your own handmade journals and sketchbooks, this beginner-friendly session is a great place to start.

You'll be introduced to essential bookbinding tools and materials, including awls, bookbinding needles and waxed thread, before trying out three simple binding techniques:

📖 3-Hole Pamphlet Stitch
📖 Japanese Stab Binding
📖 Simple Coptic Stitch

Along the way, you'll also learn some basic book repair skills, including techniques for dealing with loose pages and damaged spines.

No previous experience is required, and all abilities are welcome.
Come along and discover a rewarding craft that combines creativity, practicality and a love of books.

Join us at Haslemere Library for a fun, interactive hour of singing and music as part of this year's Summer Reading Challenge: Read to the Beat.

Led by local music and singing teachers, this free session is perfect for little ones who love songs, actions and making music together. It's a great opportunity to explore rhythm, build confidence and have fun in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

💷 FREE
👶 Ideal for ages 0–5
👧 Older siblings are welcome too

No booking required - tickets to be handed out at the Help Desk from 9.30am on the day.

♟️ Can You Help Us Start a Chess Club?

We're excited to be launching a Chess Club at Haslemere Library in October 2026, and we're looking for donations of chess sets to help get us started.

If you have a complete chess set at home that's no longer being used, we'd love to give it a new lease of life. Your donation will help people of all ages learn, play, and enjoy the game in a friendly library setting.

Donations can be dropped off at Haslemere Library during our normal opening hours.

Looking for a relaxing, creative way to spend an afternoon? Bring your favourite drawing materials and join fellow doodlers and artists for a friendly hour of sketching, chatting, and inspiration.

🖌️ This Month’s Prompt: "Straight Outta Curves!” —— Fill the boxes provided with a version of the following subjects using straight lines only.
Bow tie • Croissant • Hippo • Candle • Flag • Footprint • Mountain
