Join our Sketch Club at Haslemere Library!

Looking for a relaxing, creative way to spend an afternoon? Bring your favourite drawing materials and join fellow doodlers and artists for a friendly hour of sketching, chatting, and inspiration.

🖌️ This Month’s Prompt: "Shadow Facsimile” —— Create an observational image but only draw the shadows. It could be a flower, can of baked beans, your favourite drink (hot or cold), ice cream, or a building. The only limit is your imagination!

Next Meet-Up: Friday, 10th July
1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
FREE | No booking required

Whether you're a seasoned sketcher or just fancy a casual doodle, everyone is welcome.

Sketch Club meets on the second Friday of every month.

We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic people (aged 14+) to support this year’s Read to the Beat themed challenge, running from July to September.

Volunteers help:
🎵 Encourage children to talk about books
🎸 Help them choose new reads
🎺 Hand out rewards
🎨 Support fun events and craft sessions

We’ll give you training, and our library team will be there to support you.

📚 Comic Book Capers – Create & Take Home Your Own Comic ✏️

Looking for a creative school‑holiday activity your child will love?

At this fun, guided workshop, children will create their very own mini comic book — designing a character, inventing a simple story, and illustrating it step by step. We’ll then compile their pages into a small A5 comic book for them to take home.

No need to be confident writers or artists — this session is designed to be supportive, imaginative and enjoyable, with plenty of guidance throughout.

What to expect:
✅ Character design made simple
✅ Easy story planning
✅ Drawing comic panels
✅ Finished mini comic book to take home
✅ All materials included

📅 Thu 30th Jul | Thu 13th Aug
⏰ 2:00–4:00pm
💷 £4 per child (siblings £3)
