Do you know what makes us a little different from other groups…..Mark

If you come along to one of our groups looking for a chat, a laugh, and maybe even a few new friendships along the way, that’s exactly what you’ll find.

But if you come because you’re struggling, carrying something heavy, or just need someone to talk to on a deeper level, then we have Mark.

Now, he’s not the first man in the world to somehow be in three places at once and attend all our groups, but he is a fully qualified counsellor who generously offers his time and support free of charge to all our members.

Whether you’re dealing with a current challenge, feeling overwhelmed, or carrying years of trauma that you need help unpacking, Mark is there to listen.

If you’d like to know which group he’ll be attending, just drop us a message and we’ll let you know. You can come and introduce yourself—he enjoys that, it makes him feel important, like he’s got his own fan club.

Or, if you’re already at one of our groups, simply let one of the facilitators know you’d like a chat with him and we’ll make it happen.

Because sometimes a brew and a laugh is enough. And sometimes you need a little more. Either way, we’ve got you covered.

🔥☀️ Spare a thought this week for one of the VINT ring leaders… our resident ginger. 🧑‍🦰

While the rest of us are soaking up the sunshine, enjoying a brew in the garden, and pretending we’re on holiday, he’ll be spending the week moving strategically from shade to shade like a tactical vampire.

Sun cream? Applied.
Hat? On.
Panic levels? Rising.

All jokes aside, with the longest day of the year behind us, now’s the perfect time to make the most of the good weather while we’ve got it. Before we know it, we’ll be back to moaning about rain, dark nights, and wondering where summer went.

So get yourself out there:
🚶 Go for a walk
☕ Meet a mate for a brew
🌳 Sit in the garden or local park
😎 Enjoy a bit of sunshine (responsibly!)

A bit of fresh air, good company, and a laugh can do wonders for your mental health.

And if you spot a ginger bloke hiding under a tree covered head-to-toe in SPF 5000… be kind. He’s fighting battles the rest of us can’t understand.

Stay safe, look after each other, and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.

🎺🥁 TOMORROW NIGHT – THE BAND IS BACK TOGETHER! 🥁🎺

For the first time in what feels like forever, the full VINT band will be assembled… yes, ALL of us. No skiving, no mysterious illnesses, no “I’ve just remembered I’ve got to wash my dog” excuses. We’re all turning up… for once! 😆

We’d love you to come along to one of our groups tomorrow evening at 7:00pm. Whether you want to have a chat, share what’s on your mind, get something off your chest, or simply sit back and laugh at the facilitators, the choice is entirely yours.

And because we’re good like that, we’ll even supply a fully caffeinated brew to keep you awake and match-fit for the England game afterwards. ☕⚽

We are incredibly proud to announce that we are now signatories to the Armed Forces Covenant.

It is an honour to be trusted by veterans to hear their stories, understand their struggles, and stand beside them as they face the battles that often continue beyond military service.

This commitment reinforces our dedication to supporting the Armed Forces community and ensuring that those who have served know they never have to face those challenges alone.

Thank you to every veteran who has placed their trust in us. We are proud to stand with you. 🇬🇧

This week, take a lesson from a dog.

Wake up excited for the day. Enjoy the simple things. Spend time with people who make you smile. Get outside, stay curious, and don’t waste energy on things you can’t control.

Chase what brings you joy, rest when you need to, and celebrate the little wins.

Life doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes happiness is just doing more of what makes your tail wag.

New week. New start. Make it a good one.

We often talk about supporting younger veterans, and there is a very important reason why.

According to data from the Office for National Statistics, male veterans aged 25–34 are twice as likely to die by su***de as male civilians in the same age group. At the same time, more than half of all veterans report experiencing mental health difficulties.

These are not just statistics. They represent real people, real struggles, and real lives.

If you know a veteran, please tell them about what we do.

While there are other excellent mental health support groups operating locally, we are the only group specifically for veterans. That matters.

We would never suggest that one person’s problems are more important than another’s. Everyone’s challenges are significant to them, and everyone deserves support. But imagine sitting in a room where people are discussing the stresses and strains of everyday life while you’re carrying memories of conflict, loss, trauma, or experiences from a war zone that replay in your mind every single day.

Sometimes, the people who understand best are those who have walked a similar path.

A veteran-only space provides understanding without explanation, support without judgement, and a community where experiences don’t need to be translated.

That is why veteran-specific groups are not just important — they are essential.

Please help us reach those who may be struggling in silence. A simple conversation or recommendation could make all the difference.
