Join us for the 7th Annual PDA Space Summit, the world’s largest FREE online event dedicated to Pathological Demand Avoidance.

This year, we are diving deep into a critical conversation: Why can someone be capable of doing something, but not always have the capacity to access that ability?

This is good news for Hertfordshire parents/carers.

Follow First Steps ED for more information on how to access this new digital ARFID pathway.

Less waiting. More support. 💙

We’re excited to announce that First Steps ED and Univa have launched the UK’s first digital stepped care pathway for ARFID, now live in Hertfordshire.

The pathway is designed to help families access support sooner, with care starting quickly after referral. Families can access a 10-week digital ARFID programme through the Univa app, supported by parents/carers. If more support is needed, First Steps ED’s specialist team can step in with one-to-one support.

Today is the official launch of The School is Lava! 🌋📖 a new book written by Danielle Jata-Hall of PDA Parenting

At Angels Support Group, we know how incredibly challenging EBSA and school burnout are for families. Books like this are so important in raising awareness, bringing understanding, and making sure our children feel seen.

Come along this afternoon to celebrate, enjoy the free fun day, and drop by to meet us!

📍 Where: Hemel Hempstead Camelot Rugby Club

If I’d have known 5 years ago this would be happening, maybe I would have been able to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

For anyone new here, we were in the throws of emotional based school avoidance (EBSA) and instead of getting support we faced threats and child protection fears.

My daughter hit burnout because it got to the point where she couldn’t manage anymore and it took years to rebuild to where we are now.

The worst part is that we were frightened and forced into continuing as there was no way out.

At the time I had an idea to tell a story through a child’s eyes on what it means to not really be fine in school.

And that was where The School is Lava was born.

Today the book is released on Amazon and in all leading bookstores and I am so nervous to see how it will be received.

Will it change the path for other children?

To celebrate, I’ve been supported by MANY people in the community to help build a free fun day instead of a traditional book launch, which takes place this afternoon.

You may have seen that we have speakers from a range of places, charities, a raffle, fairground, food and drink, kids activities and a lava themed obstacle course to top it off.

We really hope as many families and professionals will come together, mingle and be included, take what they need from the event and to get this book into the places we need it seen.
