♻️ The answer is yes, it does.

Your recycling is helping make a real difference.

As a borough, we have already recycled nearly 712 tonnes more material so far this year than at the same point last year. That’s roughly the weight of 60 double-decker buses. 🚌 🎉

Recycle Week takes place from Monday 14 to Sunday 20 September 2026. This year’s theme is all about showing that every recycling effort is worth it.

This Saturday, visit Veolia’s Recycling Sorting Centre and go behind the scenes to see where your recycling goes after it’s collected.

September is East and Southeast Asian Heritage Month. Hear from Cllr Hau-Yu Tam and Cllr Esther Lie as they invite residents to discover, celebrate and support East and Southeast Asian communities across Lewisham.

This year's theme, Evolving Threads, celebrates the stories, cultures and solidarities that connect East and Southeast Asian communities across time, place and generations.

Throughout September, join us for storytelling, craft workshops, bilingual storytimes, cultural celebrations, food events and much more across the borough.
