Foster Carers what are your memories of fostering?
To get you going, here is one from earlier ! ... changing their nappies and clearing up their vomit, mending the toy they broke in a fit of rage, saving every scribbled drawing for the memory book, cheering for them on sports day.
The forcing a smile and a wave as you say goodbye, and then sobbing after they have left.

Foster Carers ... No wonder they love you.

Fostering caring for them, fighting for them, forgiving them, loving them unconditionally, and letting them go.

Working with foster carers is terrific. Just left our 'Enjoy and Achieve Support Group'. More stories later but thank you Moufida for sharing this touching story. Moufida was at Kings Cross Station seeing off her foster child on a train journey. She had to leave him at the ticket barrier. Off he went but Moufida was watching a short distance away to make sure he was safe. At the barrier he turned round (probably to check on her!) hesitated and then shouted "Don't worry, I'll be back". Attachment with foster children is hard won but it's a real satisfaction when it happens. If you are interested in fostering, call our friendly team on 020 3713 7293.
