This week our newly formed City Impact Team held a one-day crackdown on cyclists, e-scooters and e-bikes flouting the Public Space Preservation Order (PSPO) on Bridge Street.

A total of 14 fixed penalty notices were handed out and Cambridgeshire Constabulary seized two illegal e-bikes and four e-scooters on Wednesday, 26 August.

But the work will not stop there, as Peterborough City Council leader Cllr Shabina Qayyum explains here.

Could scanning a QR code lead to being scammed? ⚠️

Not always, but scammers are using QR codes in places you would usually trust to lead you to fake websites or apps.

Here's a few questions to ask yourself to stay protected against QR code scams ⤵️

- Who is it from? If the QR code is in a letter or email, is it something you were expecting to receive?

- If it's a public space like a car park, is it actually a sticker covering up something else?

- When you scan it, does the web address match the business you were expecting to see? And does it have a secure connection?

We are putting a stop to bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters down Bridge Street.

Speaking to Dotty McLeod on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire this morning, Cllr Zameer Ali highlighted the work of Peterborough's City Impact Team including Cambridgeshire Constabulary , which has already issued 14 fixed penalty notices and seized several e-bikes and e-scooters.

Our priority is simple: keeping the city centre safe, family-friendly and accessible for everyone.
