Shared Storytime📖

At the end of every month, we will be sharing a story sent in by one of you!💙

This month we hear from Wendy.

Wendy supports 3 friends together on a Monday and then 2 friends together on a Tuesday.

“It’s hardly a job; it’s a way of life. I feel as though I’m meeting up with my friends, I call them ‘my gang’. I include them in my life (including my parents and my dogs) and we enjoy visiting places together.” Wendy

Yesterday, we had a great catch-up in Riverside with our Shared Lives Ambassadors to discuss our upcoming Reflections Event, part of the Accelerated Reform Project in partnership with Shared Lives Plus and the three other South Yorkshire Shared Lives schemes😊

We also talked about the council's Adult Social Care Strategy, which our ambassadors are keen to be involved in and help shape💬

It was lovely to see everyone and hear their valuable insights. We're looking forward to making these meetings a regular occurrence, meeting quarterly to continue working together and sharing ideas💙

Hayley, Luke and Andrew visited Blackpool and watched the incredible Air Show.

From thrilling aerial displays to enjoying the seaside atmosphere, it was a day to remember☀️

A big thank you to The Willows School for the lovely surprise we received last week, a thank you card and some delicious biscuits!🍪

The staff and pupils regularly support Shared Lives Rotherham by helping to run our coffee mornings in Thurcroft. Their enthusiasm, organisation and friendly approach always help make these events such a success😊

We're incredibly grateful for your continued support and look forward to many more coffee mornings together!☕

On Wednesday, the Shared Lives team came together for our team meeting and took some time to focus on wellbeing💙

As it's National Wellness Month, we wanted to share some simple wellbeing tips that can help support our physical and mental health:

Stay connected with family and friends✨
Take time to get outside and be active🚶
Keep hydrated throughout the day🥤
Make time to relax and recharge🧘
Do something that brings you joy😀
Talk to someone if you're feeling overwhelmed💬

Looking after our wellbeing is important every day, and even small changes can make a big difference.

The Rotherham Show returns to the beautiful surroundings of Clifton Park, with one of its most vibrant programmes yet.

Brought to you by Rotherham Council and partners, this two-day event is a chance to celebrate everything that makes our borough special and the communities that make it thrive.

Join us from 11am until 5pm on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September to enjoy an inspiring programme of entertainment, creativity and good old family fun, including:

⚽ Sports & adventure play
