A fantastic day out in Filey!😀

Shared Lives carers Maria and Charlotte enjoyed a lovely day trip to Filey last week with Matthew, Will, David and Harriet. Travelling by train made the adventure even more exciting, and everyone had a wonderful time exploring the seaside.

The group especially enjoyed a game of crazy golf and had lots of fun trying their luck on the slot machines⛳

Lots of lovely memories were made✨

A Reminder of our ‘Clay Faces’ Walk next Thursday with Winthrop Gardens🎃

This is a short circular walk of around a mile into Wickersley Woods, making clay faces on the trees🌳

If you would like to join us, we will be meeting at Winthrop Gardens on Thursday 22 October at 10am for a 10.30am start. If you’re not able to make the walk, please join us afterwards in the café for refreshments☕

Please feel free to wear your Halloween costumes if you'd like to join in the spooky fun!👻

The two Charlottes enjoyed a wonderful day out in York together☀️

From exploring the Shambles to visiting the parks and searching for York's famous Ghosts, they made the most of the beautiful sunny weather and had a brilliant time!✨

The Shared Lives Team and some of our ambassadors are at the Futures Event today at the New York Stadium!📍

The event is open to young people aged 12-25 with SEND, as well as their families and carers. There are lots of local organisations here offering information, advice, guidance and support, along with opportunities and services available in the area.

The event is running until 6.30pm, so why not pop along, say hello to our team, and see what's on offer?😊

Last month, Michael and Bev enjoyed a brilliant day out at Yorkshire Wildlife Park with Shared Lives Carer Soraya!🦌

They had a fantastic time exploring all the attractions, with the Polar Bears at Project Polar being a particular highlight of the day🐻‍❄️

Did you know that today is No Disposable Cup Day?☕

This annual awareness day encourages people around the world to reduce waste by avoiding single-use disposable cups and choosing reusable alternatives instead.

At Shared Lives Rotherham, we like to do our bit for the environment by using our own mugs in the office and reusable cups wherever possible. Small changes like this can help to significantly reduce everyday waste and make a positive difference for our planet🌱

First Aid Training Refresher😀

On Wednesday, the Shared Lives Team, along with some of our carers, completed their First Aid Training.

The sessions were delivered by Frank and provided a fantastic refresher, reminding us all just how important it is to keep our first aid knowledge and skills up to date.

As part of their role, Shared Lives carers are required to refresh their First Aid Training annually. If your training is due for renewal, please get in touch with the team and we will be happy to book you onto an upcoming session.

As the leaves begin to turn and the nights draw in, we're excited for another great month in Shared Lives. We can't wait for our upcoming autumn walk, meeting people at the Futures Fair at the New York Stadium, and making the most of those cosy autumn evenings✨
