🚨☀ We have made the decision to CANCEL tomorrow's flying demonstration (Tuesday 26th of May) due to the continuing high temperatures forecasted.

We do not expect the weather to affect the rest of the half term week, however we are monitoring the situation and reserve the right to cancel or shorten the display at our discretion where the welfare of our visitors and birds is likely to be affected.

Thank you for your understanding. 😊

☀ Apparently, it's getting a bit hot over the next few days. While that may sound fantastic, we also have to priorotise the safety and wellbeing of our visitors and birds, especially over the busy .

While we will attempt to continue with the 🦅flying demonstration as usual, the outdoor flying arena has little shade, so we strongly recommend coming prepared with:

👒Headwear such as a hat or cap
🥤Plenty of bottled drinking water
😎Sun screen to apply throughout the day

But don't let the heat deter you from our Baby Day activities on Sunday the 24th and Monday the 25th of May! We'll be holding special keeper talks with the 🦉Owl Babies at 10:45am and 1:30pm, plus catch the demonstration at 11:15am and 2:00pm! See you there!

One of the older babies to join in on baby day is this little tawny owl chick. As you can see he’s just finding his wings and cheekily able to pop up out of the box now to investigate a bit more of the brooder room

They don’t really look like babies anymore but these 2 9 week old boys had some filming work to do so stayed with me a little longer than the other raven babies. Anyway we’ve just moved them in to the main aviaries next to Geoff so they will be on show for the weekend.

Thought I’d squeeze 2 different babies in to tonight’s baby reveal for Sunday/Monday’s baby days. The kookaburra chick is looking like a proper bird now and the little bundle of fluffiness is a 5 day old Long eared owl chick.
If you are planning on attending, you can book tickets online and if you are able, gift aid them and that saves having to mess about at the till when you turn up.

The last of our baby days are happening this weekend. Both Sunday and Monday we will have 2 sessions to introduce all the babies we have now, plus a flying demonstration after each one. Every day this week, I’ll post some of the babies that we will have out for you to see. This little one doesn’t look much now but I’m excited to have him in the flying team later in the year. He is a red billed blue magpie.
There is also a surprise chick that we are really excited about that arrived yesterday and we won’t even post so that it’s a surprise for everyone who is coming to the event.

I love how a Tawny Frogmouth chick looks like you’ve created an AI bird. They are so weird looking. The other chick is a new species to the centre, that I’ll reveal more as it grows. It’s not even a week old yet.
