Hrossey Raptors

Hrossey Raptors Fun and educational talks about Birds of Prey and the art of Falconry. We are Orkney's Bird of Prey centre. All displays and sessions are weather permitting.

We have Harris Hawks, Lanner Falcons a Crested Caracara, a Barn owl, a Boobook owl a American Kestrel and our Eurasian Eagle Owl. We will be providing 2 flying demonstrations all season and offering the chance to get up close and personal with our birds in our experience sessions. Booking places is not required for displays but are a must for experience sessions. Please respect the guidelines for

social distancing. Skaill House Falconry is not included in the Skara Brae and Skaill House joint ticket. We are open

Demonstration times 11.30am and 1.30pm, weather permitting. There is parking available. You may use the grass verge through the gate to Skaill House. While we endeavour to fly our birds as often as we can, sometimes it's just not possible because of the weather. In these circumstances we must take into consideration the welfare of our birds. Please understand that our birds come first and we don't want them to come to any harm. The weather changes by the minute in Orkney and sometimes we have to adapt our demonstrations/experience sessions to accommodate this. Thank you for understanding. We take pride in the care and welfare of our birds as they are part of our family. Please come along and enjoy this personal experience with us. Thank you

From Saturday 1st August, we will be at The Tomb of the Eagles every week until the end of the season. Hopefully the weather will improve to get some flying in 🦉🦅

Delighted to share that Hrossey Raptors will be with us at the visitor centre every Saturday from 1st August! Come and get to know their fantastic birds from 11am - 3pm 🦅. Donations to Hrossey Raptors on the day are welcome.

Welcome Day is almost here!

🦅 BIG NEWS! Skaill House Falconry is spreading its wings! 🦅
We are incredibly excited to announce that we are transitioning to a mobile service under our brand-new name: HROSSEY RAPTORS! To celebrate this new chapter, we are heading to one of the most iconic spots in Orkney.
Join us at the Tomb of the Eagles Welcome Day!
📅 Date: Sunday, 31st May
🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (The full event runs until 5:00 PM!)
📍 Location: Tomb of the Eagles, South Ronaldsay
Come along to see the birds up close, chat with us about our new mobile journey, and celebrate the grand reopening of this incredible site. The trust has an amazing day planned, with the official opening ceremony kicking off at 12:00 PM.
It is a deeply special place to bring the raptors, and we can't wait to see both familiar faces and new friends there.
