The Summer Book Quest finishes on Saturday 12th September. Make sure your child starts and finishes by that date to be entered into Tiverton Library's prize draw to win one of these fantastic prizes. All children who complete the Quest also get a medal and a certificate sent to school for presentation in assemblies. Don't miss out. Make sure your child finishes!

Tiverton Library's phone lines have been out of order since Thursday afternoon. We can't receive or make calls at the moment. If you ring our number (01884 244644) please hold the line as you will be transferred to the Libraries Team at the My Devon County Council call centre. The staff there can renew your books, place reservations and get a message to us via email Monday-Fridays 9am-5pm. The library is very much open and all our regular activities and holiday events are taking place as normal. Thanks for your patience.

Who will be our Summer Book Quest School Champions 2026? Every year we measure how many children at each school in Tiverton start and finish the quest. Will last year's winners Bolham do it again, or perhaps Tidcombe will reclaim their crown? With just over 2 weeks left to take part, and children from EVERY primary school in Tiverton already signed up it is all to play for! Come and join us and help make your school a winner. 🏆 Don't forget there's prizes to win if you complete the Quest.

🌒 Solar eclipse glasses at Tiverton Library?

We’ve seen some information circulating that Tiverton Library stocks solar eclipse glasses. Sadly, we don’t - sorry! 😎

We DO want to take the opportunity to remind everyone to enjoy the eclipse safely. Never look directly at the Sun during an eclipse, even while wearing ordinary sunglasses. You can cause serious and permanent damage to your eyes.

If you don’t have proper, certified eclipse glasses, the safest option is to view the eclipse indirectly. One simple way to do this is by making a pinhole camera. It’s quick, easy and a great little science activity too! 🔭
