🇸🇪A farewell message from Ambassador Anna Lyberg🇬🇪
Three years. Countless meetings, conversations, journeys and memories.
As Ambassador Anna Lyberg concludes her posting in Georgia, we asked her to reflect on the people, experiences and moments that have shaped her time here.
What will you remember most from your time in Georgia?
"The people. The conversations and encounters with people from different backgrounds and from all parts of the country. Georgia is an extraordinarily rich country, where history, traditions and culture blend with dreams, hopes and ambitions for the future. Those conversations and encounters are what I will remember most together with people's determination when it comes to their future and the development of their country. Even during difficult periods, I have seen an energy and resilience that refuses to disappear.
Is there a place in Georgia that you will carry with you for the rest of your life?
"There are so many. The diversity of this country is remarkable. Wherever you go, you find stunning landscapes, fascinating culture, rich history and wonderful food. But perhaps most of all, it is the feeling I get when I am in the mountains, whether in hiking boots or on skis."
And finally, is there a message you would like to leave to the people of Georgia?
"Georgia and Sweden have been friends and partners for more than thirty years. I am proud to have been part of that partnership and confident that it will continue to grow.
During these three years, I have met extraordinary people across Georgia. Your resilience, kindness and commitment to the future of your country have been a constant source of inspiration.
Thank you for your friendship, your trust and your hospitality. Thank you for welcoming me and my family.
From the mountains and forests to the cities, villages and communities I have visited, Georgia has given me memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
Georgia will always hold a special place in my heart.

Through moments of optimism, uncertainty, achievement and challenge, you have represented Sweden with clarity, dignity and genuine care for the people and communities you have met along the way.
We will miss you, wish you every success in your next adventure, and look forward to welcoming you back to Georgia one day.
