The Ghana Civil Aviation Training Academy - GATA, in partnership with the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), successfully organised a five-day Aviation Crisis Management Training Programme aimed at strengthening aviation security preparedness and crisis response capabilities across Africa.

Held from 13–17 July 2026, the programme brought together aviation professionals from several African countries for practical learning, knowledge-sharing, and hands-on crisis management training.

Participants gained valuable skills to enhance preparedness, response, and recovery during aviation-related crises, contributing to a safer, more secure, and more resilient civil aviation sector across the continent. 🌍✈️

The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) on Saturday, 16th May 2026, climaxed its month-long 40th Anniversary celebrations with a colourful Dinner & Awards at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra.

The memorable occasion brought together distinguished personalities from the aviation industry, government, development partners, airline operators, former Directors-General, and retired officers to celebrate four decades of excellence in aviation safety, regulation and service delivery.

Delivering the keynote addressa as Special Guest of Honour, the Minister for Transport, Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, conveyed congratulations from H.E. President John Dramani Mahama and reaffirmed government’s commitment to positioning Ghana as West Africa’s preferred aviation hub.

Director-General Rev. Stephen Wilfred Arthur expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their immense support over the years, describing the milestone as both a celebration of achievements and a call to build a lasting legacy for future generations.
