On 11th October 2023, Accra International Conference Center - Ghana Civil Aviation Authority won the BEST STATE-OWNED ENTERPRISES OF THE YEAR award and adjudged the SECOND OVERALL SPECIFICED ENTITY OF THE YEAR (PICS) at the Public Enterprise League Table.

International Cabin Crew Day is observed on the 31st of May annually, in various regions of the world to celebrate Cabin Crew for their efforts and hard work.
On this remarkable day thus, we remember and celebrate Heinrich Kubis (Godfather of Cabin Crew) and Ellen Church as being the first male and female Cabin Crew respectively, as they initiated professionals to build a healthy and strong industry.
Most people have the mindset that flight attendants are “glorified waitstaff” but the primary task of the cabin crew is to “Ensure the safety of passengers onboard”.
Cabin Crew spend most of their time on their feet during flight operations and have to deal with different passengers, from all walks of life on a regular basis. FAMILIARIZATION VISIT BY THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL (DG) TO KUMASI AND SUNYANI AIRPORTS.
A Stakeholder engagement workshop on Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) has been held by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority today, on the theme “Effective Coordination, the key to Provision of Quality Assured Aeronautical Information”. The workshop forms part of the Authority’s efforts in addressing topical issues in Aeronautical Information Management aimed at effective coordination among stakeholders.
Pursuant to the Ghana Civil Aviation (Aerodrome) Directives, Ing. Charles Kraikue, Director-General of Ghana Civil Aviation Authority earlier today issued an Operating Certificate (AOC) to the Ghana Airports Company Limited following a successful completion of the renewal of aerodrome certification exercise for Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, today, held a breakfast meeting with industry players to reinforce its commitment towards ensuring Aviation Safety and Security in the air transport industry in the Country. Participants at the meeting were drawn from the Airlines, Aviation Ground Handling Companies, Customs, Immigration, National Security, etc.
The Director General, Ing. Charles Kraikue was excited to have received a delegation from HNA Group, partners of Africa World Airlines at his office this afternoon.
Discussions were focused on Ghana's enviable Aviation Safety record and Africa World Airlines’ planned expansion of operations to other destinations in the sub-region.

Congratulations to Ghana 🇬🇭 on its election to the Council at the ongoing 41st Triennial Assembly in Montreal, Canada.
Once every three years, all of ICAO's 193 member States are invited to convene to form the ICAO Assembly. At the Assembly, they decide how to ensure the safe, secure, and sustainable development of the entire global civil aviation network.
The ex*****on of this strategic vision is undertaken by the ICAO Council, which is the governing body of the ICAO Secretariat. The ICAO Council is comprised of 36 States elected by the Assembly.
Ghana’s Permanent Representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Mrs. Anita Adjei Nmashie will represent Ghana on the ICAO Council for a three-year term, following Ghana’s election to the Council. The keenly contested election just ended at the ongoing 41st ICAO Triennial Assembly in Montreal, Canada.

MINISTER OF TRANSPORT LEADS AVIATION EXPERTS TO THE 41ST ICAO TRIENNIAL ASSEMBLY IN MONTREAL, CANADA.
The Minister for Transport, Hon. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah has led a team of aviation experts from the Ministry of Transport, the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the Ghana Airports Company Limited(GACL), Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Transport to attend the 41st International Civil Aviation Organization ( ) Triennial Assembly currently ongoing in Montreal, Canada.
The eleven-day programme which begun on Tuesday, 27th September and scheduled to end on 7th October 2022 is expected to bring together ’s 193 Member States , of which Ghana is a proud member.
During the Assembly Session, ICAO’s complete work programme in the technical, economic, legal and technical cooperation fields are reviewed in detail and outcomes provided to other bodies of and its member States in order to guide their continuing and future work, as prescribed in Article 49 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation.
The Minister of Transport, Hon. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah would be expected on Saturday, 1st October 2022 to address the assembly to tout Ghana’s numerous achievements in the aviation industry as well as Ghana’s recovery in air transportation following the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hon. Asiamah would rely on Ghana’s enormous achievement in the aviation sector in the sub-region to solicit support for Ghana’s candidature for election to Part 3 of the ICAO Council to represent the Western Region of Africa.
In total eight African States, including Ghana will be contesting for seats and reelection to the governing body of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Ghana at the 40th Triennial Assembly in 2019 received two prestigious awards, the ICAO Council President’s Certificate in Aviation Security and the ICAO Council President’s Certificate in Aviation Safety after significantly improving on its safety performance after the last safety assessment in April 2019. Ghana obtained an Effective Implementation (EI) rate of 89.89%, one of the highest by an African State, after ICAO concluded its Coordinated Validation Mission (ICVM).
Some notable members of the Ministers’ delegation included, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee of transport, Hon. Kennedy Nyarko Osei & MP for Akim Sweduru Constituency, Hon.Kwame Governs Agbodza, Ranking Member, Parliamentary Select Committee of Transport & MP for Adaklu , Mrs. Mabel Sagoe, Chief Director Ministry of Transport, Mr. Charles Kraikue - Director General, Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), and Mrs. Pamela Djamson- Tettey, Managing Director, Ghana Airports Company Limited(GACL).
Ghana’s High Commissioner to Canada, H.E. Anselm Ransford Sowah also joined the Ministers’ delegation to attend the opening session.
The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority together with other Ghanaian delegates and participants will be at the 41st General Assemby over the next coming days for deliberations on the themes of , innovation and resilience, and the continued sustainability of the air transport sector.

Today, over 3000 delegates from Member States and representatives from international organizations will be at the launch of the 41st Session of the ICAO Assembly, the first since the COVID-19 outbreak, running in from September 27 to October 7, 2022.
At this important event, countries will be making key decisions to progress global air connectivity and prosperity while reducing emissions, and to improving the health and convenience of travelers, the speed of modern supply chains and more.

The aviation industry is calling on governments to adopt a long-term climate goal for the sector at the Assembly next week.
Net zero by 2050 will require a global transition for aviation to new fuels, technologies and operations. The significant investments to get there will need a solid policy foundation aligned with a global way forward.

The Director-General, Ing. Charles Ebo Kraikue, earlier today, was honoured to have received Mr. Andrew Maharaj, the new Commercial Counsellor and Senior Trade Commissioner of the High Commission of Canada to Ghana, Togo and Sierra Leone in Accra.
The visit, his first since assuming office, was to strengthen the already existing cooperation between the High Commission and the Ghana Civil .
15 participants are currently undertaking a training programme on Basic Flight Dispatch course at the Ghana Civil Aviation Training Academy (GATA), to acquire in-depth knowledge in that profession.

The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) hosted a 3-day training program in conjunction with the BAGASOO - Banjul Accord Group Aviation Safety Oversight Organisation here in Accra. The training was to enhance the efficiency and capabilities of member states in the Banjul Accord Group (BAG).
Participants were drawn from Ghana, Cabo Verde, Guinea, Gambia, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
