Office of the Ombudsman Continues Public Sensitization Outreach in Jala Koto and Wassu!!!

Today, 3rd July 2026, the Office of the Ombudsman continued its public sensitization outreach programme with visits to the communities of Jala Koto and Wassu in the Central River Region (CRR).

Community members actively participated in the discussions by asking questions and sharing concerns about challenges they have encountered in their interactions with public officials. The Office responded to these concerns by providing guidance on the appropriate complaint procedures and reaffirming its commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and fairness in public administration.

Office of the Ombudsman Continues Public Sensitization Outreach in Kaur, Njaw and Buduk

Following the official launch of the Office of the Ombudsman’s Central River Region (CRR) Regional Office, the team continued its public sensitization outreach in Kaur, Njaw, and Buduk.

The delegation, led by Deputy Ombudsman Ebrima K.S. Dampha and Director of Communications Juma K. Camara, was joined by Senior Investigator Mustapha Bah and Investigator Ya Anna.

The outreach programme aims to enhance public awareness of the mandate, functions, and services of the Office of the Ombudsman. It also seeks to educate citizens on the importance of the Office’s role in promoting administrative justice and protecting their rights. Community members were encouraged to report cases of maladministration, abuse of authority, and any form of unfair treatment by public officers in the discharge of their official duties.

The Office of the Ombudsman remains committed to bringing its services closer to the people and fostering transparency, accountability, and good governance throughout The Gambia.
