Greetings. The EFAC is still fully activated and will continue this weekend (0800-1200) Saturday and Sunday, and regular business hours (0800-1600) next week unless we are directed to stand down. NMCRS EFAC services will only be available through this weekend and will end COB Sunday.

Please send any families/sailors in need our way. We currently have Housing, NMCRS, Red Cross, and legal representatives on site to support.

Tropical Cyclone Update

CURRENT WATCHES / WARNINGS:
Typhoon Warning: Rota, Tinian, Saipan, Alamagan, Pagan, Agrihan
Tropical Storm Warning: Guam
Typhoon Watch: Guam

TC POTENTIAL / HAZARDS:
The tropical storm warnings have been upgraded to typhoon warnings for the Far Northern Mariana Islands of Alamagan, Pagan, and Agrihan. Other than that, no changes have been made to the previous watches and warnings for the CNMI and Guam. Super Typhoon Sinlaku has maintained its northwest course at 7 miles per hour, bringing gusts of 66 miles per hour at Guam and 70 miles per hour at Saipan. It is expected to maintain its course and speed through Wednesday before making a turn to the north, passing through northern CNMI during the latter half of the week. Typhoon-force winds of 130 to 155 miles per hour and 175 miles per hour gusts are forecasted for Tinian and Saipan Tuesday night, while Rota will now see strong tropical-storm force winds of 60 to 70 miles per hour with gusts up to 90 miles per hour around the same time period. Guam’s forecast remains the same of tropical storm-force winds of 50 to 60 miles per hour with gusts of 70 miles per hour through tonight and slightly weakening to 45 to 55 miles per hour on Wednesday. The northern CNMI can expect similar conditions as Tinian and Saipan, possibly stronger as STY Sinlaku continues its trek. Heavy rainfall with locally heavier showers are still possible across the entire region, and seas continue to build to 20 ft.

‼️NOW is the time to prepare for the impending storm as it continues slowly toward the Marianas. See below for NEX Guam hours of operation. Stores are stocked with emergency supplies. Note the following preparations for inclement weather:

✅Stay up to date with the latest information. The system track or intensity may change and advisories may be issued.

✅Locate or prepare your emergency preparedness kits for your household; stock up on non-perishable food items and water for your household, flashlights, first-aid kits, batteries, matches or lighters, portable stove, toiletries, etc.

✅Secure important documents such as birth certificates, tax papers, and insurance documents and keep copies in a water-proof bag.

✅Clear loose debris around your yard and store any items that may become airborne with heavy winds, before inclement weather arrives.

✅Gas your vehicles and get fuel for your generators now while the weather is clear.

✅Be prepared to take action if flood advisories are issued. Do not camp, park, or hike during heavy rainfall. These areas can flood quickly and with little warning.

‼️⛈️Together with the Government of Guam and Joint Task Force- Micronesia, Joint Region Marianas (JRM) continues to closely monitor Typhoon Sinlaku, formerly known as Tropical Storm 04W, as it tracks toward the Marianas.

JRM will establish Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness (TCCOR) 3 at 10 p.m. today for all military installations in anticipation of destructive winds.
