Cumann Hurson-Quirke. Sinn Féin Galway City West extends sincerest sympathy to the Hurson family following the death yesterday evening of Brendan Hurson, brother of Óglach Martin Hurson, after whom our Cumann is jointly named 🙏.

Kieran Doherty TD died on hunger strike this day in 1981, in the H-Blocks of Long Kesh.
An elected TD to Leinster House, the then Irish government did absolutely nothing to save him or his comrades also on the hunger strike. The national flag was simply hoisted at half-mast outside the building, that's all! Another self-respecting government would have called in the British Ambassador or withdrawn our Ambassador.

45 years ago on this day in 1981, Óglach Martin Hurson died on hunger strike in the the H-Blocks.
Cumann Hurson-Quirke. Sinn Féin Galway City West remembers him with pride and stands by his Republican beliefs.

Cumann Hurson-Quirke. Sinn Féin Galway City West activists have been out in the local area distributing leaflets in support of Sinn Fein's Irish Unity Bill.

This bill will compel the Irish government to make preparations for Irish Unity by publishing a green paper and the establishment of a citizens assembly on Unity.

On July 7th, Sinn Féin, is bringing a Irish Unity Bill before the Dáil.
We call on the government parties to join in and finally break the connection with England and support Irish Unity.
