CIR physicians at Temple Health's Main Hospital, Chestnut Hill, and Fox Chase have all reached tentative agreements on our first union contracts!

With Temple residents joining our peers at Jefferson and Penn, more than 86% of housestaff across the Philadelphia region will be protected by CIR contracts after ratification. Union power is transforming health care in Philly, and we're just getting started. 💪💜

This week CIR members at Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) kicked off the community engagement phase of their contract campaign by sponsoring a community dinner with local partner The Movement Family. TMF's weekly "Dinner for the Homeless" is a Lawrence, MA, staple and a hub of community-centered care and solidarity.

The GLFHC's bargaining team has built their chapter's theory of change around the fact that patients' material conditions directly affect residents' working conditions. As we all continue to be a leading voice for improving patient care in our communities, showing up for our community through events like this can help foster a deeper connection with those we work so hard to advocate for.

No one should have to go into debt just to complete residency and become the best doctors we can be for our communities. But that's the reality for so many residents at .

We are the LOWEST-PAID residents in Philly, and our pay and benefits have fallen behind other residency programs across the city. If Temple wants to continue attracting and retaining talented doctors, they needs to invest in the housestaff who provide the majority of patient care every single day. It's time for a fair contract!

Can you hear us now, Temple Health?

On Friday, CIR members were outside Temple Health's Acres of Diamonds fundraising gala talking with donors about our fight for a fair contract and what it takes to provide exceptional care for Philadelphia.

We work up to 80 hours a week caring for patients, yet are the LOWEST-PAID residents in the city. While President Abhi Rastogi and hospital leadership are asking donors to invest in its future, they've been resistant to investing in the doctors who provide the majority of patient care every day.

If Temple is serious about delivering exceptional care, we need a FAIR CONTRACT NOW.

CIR members made history in Rhode Island! More than 100 Brown University Health residents and fellows joined community and elected allies in the first-ever public collective action by unionized doctors in the state. The status quo isn't working for resident physicians or patients. That's why we're fighting for a first contract that strengthens our healthcare system and improves the health of communities across Rhode Island.

To Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University Health executives led by CEO John Fernandez, take notice: we're united, we're organized, and we won't stop until we win a fair and sustainable contract.

Thank you to everyone who stood with us, including: SEIU District 1199 New England Rhode Island Democratic Socialists of America & member Brittany Kubicek PSL Rhode Island Jennifer Stewart For State Representative District 59 David Morales for Providence Mayor State Senator Tiara Mack Rep. Yesterday at UC Irvine, we joined the historic statewide wave of physician action to tell President James Milliken that we will not stop until we get the fair contract that we deserve!

We’re simply asking for the administration to preserve crucial CIR wins and supports like our family building and healthcare benefits, to keep us safe walking to the parking lot after a 24 hour shift, and to agree to fair wages that reflect the value we provide.

What is UCOP waiting for?

Today, CIR doctors at UCSF Fresno held a Unity Break to demand a fair contract!

This is one of the many more Unity Breaks UC doctors plan on having to show how united we are across eight different UC residency programs at 17 different sites.

We are fed up and we are ready to do whatever it takes to win.
