🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR HAITIAN TPS HOLDERS

As of August 5, 2026, the termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti is now in effect.

If you are a Haitian TPS holder, this change may affect your immigration status and work authorization. While TPS protections have ended, you still have legal rights, and deportation is not automatic. You may have other legal options available, so it’s important to understand your rights and seek legal guidance as soon as possible.

If you are impacted:
• Consult a trusted immigration attorney immediately.
• Find a reputable legal service provider at iAmerica.org/legalhelp.
• If you’re a CIR member, contact our legal team at [email protected] for support and resources.

Haitian physicians and healthcare workers are essential to our hospitals, our patients, and our communities. One out of three Haitian TPS holders work in healthcare.

CIR stands in solidarity with our Haitian members and all immigrant healthcare workers. Immigrant rights are labor rights!

Please share this resource with anyone who might need it.

Weeks after CIR physicians at Jefferson Health ratified our first contracts, Jefferson began stripping away department benefits that support our training, safety, and ability to provide great care.

We refuse to accept this blatant union-busting. That's why yesterday, we delivered our petition signed by more than 1,100 housestaff to administrators at Jefferson Main and Jefferson Health – Einstein, demanding Jefferson respect our contracts and restore these essential benefits NOW.

Thank you to Councilmember Nicolas O'Rourke and staff from Councilmember Kendra Brooks's office for standing with us as we fight for what we need to care for Philly.

At CHMC, our community is facing layoffs AND the closure of an entire pediatric unit. Yesterday, we joined our community to ask -- who will do the work?? Who will fill the gaps and care for our sick kids?

We demand they rescind these profit-motivated threats to us all and call for a real plan that puts the needs of the community first.

Today, resident physicians and fellows at UIC held a march on the boss for a fair contract. ✊

After having more than a month to review our economic proposal, UIC has brought nothing to the table. We cannot afford to wait any longer.

UIC cannot have its cake and eat it too. We demand our fair share!

It's DAY 2 of contract ratification at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. CIR members are voting YES and ready to ratify their first contract!
