The NCCE Division of National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) successfully organised a programme on “Successful Cooperative Business Model & Entrepreneurship Day” at ABES Business School, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on 21 August 2026.

More than 250 students and faculty members participated enthusiastically in the programme. The session focused on the potential of the cooperative business model, entrepreneurship, innovation and the growing role of youth in the cooperative movement.

Sh. Rajeev Sharma, Executive Director, NCUI, delivered an insightful session on successful cooperative business models and entrepreneurship, highlighting the importance of collective enterprise, innovation, leadership and youth participation in building sustainable businesses.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Soni, Dean, ABES Business School, who welcomed the participants and NCUI team. The students actively engaged in the session and showed keen interest in exploring cooperative entrepreneurship as a promising avenue for their future.

Student trophies were also presented by Sh. Rajeev Sharma, Executive Director, NCUI, recognising and encouraging student participation.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Anjali, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, faculty members and students for their valuable contribution and enthusiastic participation.

The programme was a meaningful step towards creating awareness among youth about cooperatives, entrepreneurship and the opportunities offered by the cooperative sector.

Youth Cooperative Awareness Programme Concludes

The 2-Day Youth Cooperative Awareness Programme, organised by the National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE) of NCUI, successfully concluded on 21 August 2026.

On the concluding day, participants gained valuable insights into Cooperative Entrepreneurship for Youth by Shri Anurag, Deputy Director, NCUI, and “From Idea to Impact – Building, Managing & Growing a Cooperative” by Shri S. Raghuvanshi, Assistant Director, NCUI.Through their assignments, participants presented innovative ideas for cooperatives in agriculture, dairy, organic products, solar energy, cooperative stores and other sectors.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Dipti Yadav, Deputy Director, NCUI, expressing gratitude to the resource persons and participants for their active participation.

*Empowering Youth Through Cooperatives – Programme Begins*
The National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE) of NCUI is organising a 2-Day Youth Cooperative Awareness Programme in online mode from 20th to 21st August 2026.
The programme has received an overwhelming response, with more than 380 participants from 20 States of India and Nepal registering to learn about the cooperative movement, its values, opportunities and role in nation-building.
The programme commenced with the Opening of the Programme by Shri Rajeev Sharma, Executive Director, NCUI, along with Ms. Dipti Yadav, Deputy Director, NCUI, and Ms. Amita Kumari, Assistant Director, NCUI.

The participants benefited from insightful sessions by:

As part of its continuous efforts to introduce young minds to the cooperative movement, the Coop Connect Division of NCUI organized an enriching study visit to the Mother Dairy Plant, Patparganj, New Delhi on 17th August 2026, for 37 students and 2 faculty members — Ms. Shikha Rattan and Ms. Taruna Bahl — from Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, accompanied by Shri Anant Dubey, Deputy Director, and Shri Naveen Singh from NCUI.

Through this initiative, NCUI aims to help students understand how cooperatives work at the grassroots level and inspire them to explore the values of cooperation, self-reliance, and collective growth from an early age.

The students attended an insightful session by Shri. Renu Kumar Ravindran Pillai, Sr. Superintendent, Mother Dairy, who explained the process of milk processing, packaging, and production of milk & milk products. This was followed by a plant tour where students witnessed live milk processing, packaging, and ice-cream production operations — gaining first-hand exposure to how a successful cooperative enterprise operates.

Strengthening Cooperative Credit through Technology

NCUI, in collaboration with the Gujarat State Co-operative Credit Societies Federation Ltd., organised a webinar on “Technology-Enabled Lending: Understanding the Lending Technology Stack” for cooperative credit societies, with participation from 100+ representatives.

The programme was graced by Shri Ghanshyambhai H. Amin, Chairman, Gujarat State Co-operative Credit Societies Federation Ltd. and GC Member, NCUI, as the Chief Guest. In his address, Shri Amin highlighted the importance of technology, professional management and institutional strengthening for the future growth and competitiveness of cooperative credit societies.

Shri Rajeev Sharma, Executive Director, NCUI, set the context for the programme by highlighting the relevance of the National Cooperative Policy, 2025 and its vision for stronger, professional, efficient and technology-enabled cooperatives.

The keynote presentation provided practical insights into the lending technology stack and its role in strengthening lending processes, internal controls, risk management, efficiency and member-centric service delivery.

The session was moderated by Shri Anurag, Deputy Director, NCUI, and provided an interactive platform for cooperative credit societies to understand the opportunities and practical considerations involved in technology-enabled lending.

NCCE, the training wing of NCUI, successfully concluded its Two-Day Online Leadership Development Programme for Chairpersons, Directors and Members of Multi-State Cooperatives, held on 12–13 August 2026.

✨ 50+ cooperative leaders from different parts of India participated virtually, creating an engaging platform for learning, interaction and exchange of experiences, with a focus on building stronger, professionally managed and technology-enabled cooperatives.

The three-day Training Programme on Cooperative Laws and Practices, organized by the National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE), National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), New Delhi, concluded successfully on 6 August 2026 with a valedictory session and certificate distribution ceremony.

The third day commenced with a technical session by Dr. V. K. Dubey, Managing Director, COBI, on State Laws on Cooperatives and Comparative Analysis of State Cooperative Acts, providing participants with an in-depth understanding of the legal framework governing cooperative societies across different states.

The post-lunch session was conducted by Shri S.C. Pradhan, Principal, DSCTI on Online Registration of cooperative Societies, wherein he elaborated on the recent reforms, schemes, and initiatives undertaken by the Ministry to strengthen the cooperative sector.

During the valedictory session, participants shared their valuable feedback on the programme and appreciated the comprehensive coverage of legal, constitutional, governance, and policy-related aspects of the cooperative sector. They expressed satisfaction with the quality of resource persons and the relevance of the sessions.

Shri Ashish Dwivedi, Executive Director, NCUI, interacted with the participants and appreciated their active participation throughout the programme. He encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained for strengthening cooperative institutions in their respective organizations. He also distributed certificates and group photograph to all the participants marking the successful conclusion of the programme.

The three-day programme witnessed the participation of 30 officials from seven States, providing them with a valuable platform to enhance their understanding of cooperative laws, governance, policies, and contemporary developments in the cooperative sector.

The National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE), National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), New Delhi, inaugurated the three-day Training Programme on Cooperative Laws and Practices on 4 August 2026. The programme is being organized from 4–6 August 2026 with the participation of 30 officials representing seven States across the country.

The inaugural session was presided over by Shri Rajeev Sharma, Executive Director, NCCE, who extended a warm welcome to all the participants. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the significance of cooperative laws in ensuring transparency, accountability, democratic governance, and the sustainable growth of cooperative institutions. He encouraged the participants to actively engage in the deliberations and make the best use of the learning opportunity.

The technical sessions commenced with Shri Rajeev Sharma, Executive Director, NCCE, who delivered an insightful lecture on the Meaning, Purpose, Objectives and Philosophy of Cooperative Societies, highlighting the core principles and values of the cooperative movement.

The second session was conducted by Shri Anant Dubey, Deputy Director, NCUI, on Cooperative Governance, where he discussed the importance of effective governance practices, leadership, transparency, and accountability in cooperative institutions.

The post-lunch session was delivered by Prof. Kanwal D.P. Singh, from GGSIPU who elaborated on the Historical Evolution of Cooperative Societies in India and Abroad, the role of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), and the Administrative Structure of Cooperatives in India.

The final session of the day was also taken by Prof. Kanwal D.P. Singh on Settlement of Disputes under Cooperative Law, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of legal mechanisms for dispute resolution within cooperative societies.

The inaugural day concluded with active participation and engaging discussions, laying a strong foundation for the remaining sessions of the training programme.
