Strengthening Research & Innovation in Pharma-MedTech! 🔬
The Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India successfully hosted the Industry Dialogue on the Promotion of Research and Innovation in the Pharma-MedTech Sector (PRIP) Scheme in Bangalore on March 25, 2025. This pivotal discussion brought together key stakeholders from industry, startups, academia, and research institutions to explore opportunities for fostering innovation, collaboration, and R&D acceleration in the sector.
Key highlights from the event:
✅ Insights on the PRIP Scheme and other government initiatives supporting research & innovation.
✅ Discussions on ICMR’s Patent Mitra, MedTech Mitra, INTENT programme, CSIR’s Innovation Complex, and C-CAMP’s incubation ecosystem as enablers of translational research.
✅ Breakout sessions with industry leaders, startups, and academia on emerging R&D trends, industry-academia collaboration, and scaling innovative solutions.
✅ Encouragement for stakeholders to submit project proposals via the Expression of Interest (EoI), open till April 7, 2025, to help refine PRIP’s implementation strategy.
Shri Amit Agrawal, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, advocated progression from "Make in India” to also Innovate in India and Make for the World aiming to position the country as a global leader in innovation and manufacturing for the world.
The event reaffirmed the commitment to building a dynamic, innovation-driven ecosystem for the Pharma-MedTech sector. Looking forward to continued engagement and impactful collaborations!
