Democrats Abroad is the official overseas branch of the Democratic Party of the United States. To be a member you must be 18 years or older and a US citizen. Becoming a member is easy: we are open to any American citizen of voting age who supports the principles of the Democratic Party. No oath of loyalty, fees or dues, or past voting record is required to join. Being a member does not affect you
r voter affiliation or register you to the party, but helps us keep track of Americans living abroad who need to vote, in turn giving us a bigger voice in US foreign and domestic policy. The international governing body of Democrats Abroad is known as the Democratic Party Committee Abroad, or DPCA. Democrats Abroad is recognized and seated as the equivalent of a State Party within the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Democrats Abroad holds 8 positions on the DNC and sends a voting delegation to the Democratic National Convention to choose our party's presidential candidate. On a day-to-day basis Democrats Abroad - Italy is one of 80 country committees around the world connecting Americans with US politics — registering, informing, motivating voters, holding events, and raising funds. We have chapters in Milan, Venice, Florence, and Rome, but our members can be found throughout the peninsula, and volunteers are needed everywhere. Italian:
