On 23 May 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Vientiane hosted the Indonesian Alumni Gathering 2026 at Wisma Indonesia, bringing together more than 45 alumni of various Indonesian scholarship and training programmes, including KNB, Darmasiswa, BSBI, Universitas Pertahanan RI, Lemhannas, and other cooperation schemes.

The gathering served as a meaningful platform to strengthen people-to-people connections between Indonesia and Laos, with KUAI RI Achmad Dahlan highlighting alumni as strategic bridges of friendship and education diplomacy, while alumni coordinator Souphavanh Boutthavong expressed appreciation for the opportunities that have enriched academic, cultural, and professional experiences in Indonesia.

The event was enlivened with cultural performances, pencak silat, sharing sessions, UMKM exhibition, and a photo competition, creating a warm atmosphere of engagement and shared memories among participants.
