On 28–29 August, the Wonderful Indonesia 2026 series came alive with the vibrant colours, rhythms and cultural richness of Indonesia at the heart of Luang Prabang—the Luang Prabang Night Market

The evening came alive with the graceful Pendet and Sekar Jagat dances from Bali, performed by the Lao Army Art Troupe; an energetic Pencak Silat performance by athletes of the Lao Pencak Silat Federation; and the captivating Nawung Sekar Dance from Yogyakarta, performed by BIPA teachers and students.

Beyond the stage, visitors discovered Indonesia through the Indonesian Corner, showcasing selected Indonesian products, and the Indonesian Tourism Promotion Booth, offering a glimpse into Indonesia’s diverse destinations, culture and travel experiences.

More than a cultural showcase, the evening was a celebration of friendship, collaboration and people-to-people connections between Indonesia and Laos—bringing Wonderful Indonesia closer to the people of Laos and visitors from around the world.

As part of the Wonderful Indonesia 2026 series in Luang Prabang, KBRI Vientiane hosted the Integrated Promotion Forum of Indonesian Trade, Tourism and Investment (TTI) on 28 August 2026.

Bringing together Indonesian and Lao tourism and business stakeholders, the forum opened conversations on Indonesia’s diverse tourism destinations, trade opportunities, investment potential, and new avenues for business-to-business collaboration.

The forum also introduced Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) and the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE), inviting Lao partners to participate in the events and to connect with Indonesia’s dynamic business and creative sectors.

From tourism and trade to investment and partnerships, Wonderful Indonesia 2026 is about creating meaningful connections and turning them into new opportunities.

Selamat Hari Ulang Tahun ke-81, Kementerian Luar Negeri Republik Indonesia! 🇮🇩

Selama Januari-Juni 2026, KBRI Vientiane telah melaksanakan Survei Kepuasan Masyarakat (SKM) bagi penerima layanan kekonsuleran dan pelindungan WNI di Laos guna mengukur persepsi kepuasan masyarakat atas kualitas pelayanan publik yang diberikan.

Dari survey tersebut, diperoleh Nilai Indeks Kepuasan 3,83 dengan Nilai persepsi kepuasan sebesar 4 (Skala 4) atau kategori A (sangat baik).

Terima kasih kepada masyarakat penerima layanan kekonsuleran dan pelindungan WNI di Laos yang telah berpartisipasi memberikan penilaian dan masukan melalui survey.

KBRI Vientiane berkomitmen untuk terus meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan guna mencapai terwujudnya pelayanan prima sesuai harapan masyarakat dan standar yang ditetapkan.

KBRI Vientiane commemorated the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on 17 August 2026 with a solemn Flag Hoisting Ceremony, honoring the nation’s journey, sacrifices, and enduring spirit of independence.

The celebration continued with a joyful Syukuran Rakyat, bringing together Indonesian citizens and diaspora, Friends of Indonesia in Laos, and our young Indonesian guests from IDN Boarding School Bogor.

The celebration came alive through Nawung Sekar and Yapong dances, angklung performance, and Indonesian patriotic songs, followed by the symbolic cutting of tumpeng and the Independence Day cake.

From Vientiane, Indonesia’s spirit shines bright: united, proud, and moving forward together.

CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Vientiane is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our team as a Local Staff.

Key Responsibilities
Assisting and supporting the Embassy Staffs, such as do the day-to-day administrative tasks of the embassy, handle inquiries from the public (both in person and over the phone), provide support for consular services, coordinate with local authorities and service providers, translate documents and interpret as needed, assist in organizing events and official functions, and assist in organizing officials' visits.

Requirements
• Lao Citizen or Indonesian citizen residing in the Lao PDR;
• Applicants aged 22-35 years, preferably with job experience;
• Bachelor or Master degrees;
• Fluency in both oral and written Lao and English, knowledge of Indonesian language is an extra advantage;
• Proficiency to operate computer, skills in graphic design and digital editing is an advantage;
• Having excellent interpersonal skills to work as part of a team.

b. Recent resume or Curriculum Vitae in English with photo.
c. Family Book/ID Card/Passport for Lao Citizen, Residency and/or Work Permit for Indonesian.
