As part of intensified operations to curb criminal activity, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the Gangs, Narcotics and Fi****ms Unit (South), the K-9 Unit, and the Customs and Excise Preventative Unit conducted a joint courier sweep at targeted courier companies and cargo sheds within the Vieux Fort district.

During a search conducted at Shed 2 at the Vieux Fort Seaport, officers discovered a rifle concealed within a shipment, in the presence of the consignee, David Charles Mulvany, a British national residing in Laborie. Mulvany was arrested and was subsequently charged with the offences of Possession of a Firearm Without a Valid License and Importation of Firearm Without a Valid License.

On Friday, June 5, 2026, Mulvany was brought before the Second District Court for a bail hearing where he pleaded guilty to both offences. The court imposed a fine of $10,000.00 for the offence of Possession of a Firearm Without a Valid Licence and a fine of $5,000.00 for the offence of Importation of a Firearm Without a Valid Licence.

The court ordered that the total fine of $15,000.00 be paid forthwith. In default of payment, he shall serve a term of five (5) years' imprisonment.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has intensified its operations as part of ongoing efforts to combat criminal activity across the island.

On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, all police stations participated in a coordinated operation, conducting vehicular checkpoints within their respective areas of responsibility. The operation commenced at 3:00 p.m.

During the operation, a total of 1,400 vehicles were stopped, 35 vehicles were searched, and 47 individuals were searched. Officers issued 88 traffic tickets, 12 cautions and impounded nine vehicles.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force remains committed to proactive policing initiatives aimed at enhancing public safety and maintaining law and order.

ASP Aniel Innocent of Corporate Affairs and Training and ASP Anthea Lewis of the Central Division recently engaged with Grade 3 students at the La Guerre Combined School, in an effort to instill an appreciation for reading in the younger generation. In addition to the visit, a donation of books was presented to the schoolโ€™s library to augment its resources and encourage continued academic enrichment.

The Major Crimes Unit has formally charged a fourth individual in connection with the homicide of twenty-five (25)-year-old Givanni Andrew Joseph, also known as โ€œZuzu,โ€ who was fatally shot at The Gulf in Ciceron, Castries, on February 21, 2026.

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, twenty-one (21)-year-old Germaine Ishonn Joseph, also known by the aliases โ€œCacoโ€ and โ€œ44โ€, was arrested during a joint police operation at Wiltonโ€™s Yard, Castries.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, he was formally charged with the offence of murder. He has been remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility.

Three other individuals have previously been charged in connection with this matter: twenty-three (23)-year-old Sanjay Papius, alias โ€œStickmanโ€; twenty-five (25)-year-old Mayim King, alias โ€œSmileyโ€; and twenty-year-old Vonnelle Degazon.
