The Citizenship by Investment Programme was intended to finance major development projects. However, had the Saint Lucia Labour Party administration managed it more effectively, the recently approved borrowing of $600 million EC Dollars could have been sourced, in part, from the CIP revenues they frequently highlight.

In the first 3 years of the UWP administration Saint Lucia’s debt increased by approximately $370 Million.

By comparison, under Philip Pierre and the SLP, Saint Lucia’s debt increased by $921 Million in their first 3 years
