On August 3, Chargé d’Affaires Zadrozny met with Minister of Agriculture Alexander Nuetah to discuss expanding U.S. private sector investment in Liberia's priority agricultural value chains—cocoa, coffee, rice, rubber, maize, and cassava. The CDA highlighted that U.S. companies are already investing in Liberia's agricultural future through initiatives including poultry, a proposed commercial dairy operation, and myriad diaspora-led investments, underscoring the growing role of American private sector partnerships in supporting jobs, food security, and economic growth.

The American Shelf at the National Library of Liberia hosted a Founders’ Legacy event: Exploring the Birth of a Nation, an interactive civic education program for students, researchers, and professionals.

Through documentary films and discussions, the participants explored the historical significance of the 1776 U.S. Declaration of Independence, examining the principles of constitutional governance, the rule of law, and democratic accountability.

The discussions also encouraged participants to reflect on the importance of civic responsibility, constitutionalism, institutional transparency, and active citizen participation in strengthening Liberia’s democracy and promoting good governance.

The U.S. government through the Pacific Disaster Center (PDC Global) is partnering with the Liberian National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) to begin planning the National Disaster Preparedness Baseline Assessment (NDPBA). In preliminary meetings with PDC officials, NDMA Executive Director Mr. Ansu V.S. Dulleh, Sr described the project as critical to Liberian disaster preparedness, as the country expands the comprehensive disaster management capabilities necessary to prepare for, respond to, and recover from hazards.

The NDPBA project (pdc.org/NDPBA) is designed to promote risk-informed decision-making through evidence-based data and analytics, increase multi-agency coordination, and enhance disaster monitoring and disaster risk reduction initiatives.

We look forward to the official NDPBA Kickoff Workshop in November!

American Center Monrovia hosted a tour of our Freedom250 Founders' Museum for youth and student leaders and members of the public. The event focused on Alexander Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, who is featured on the current U.S. $10 dollar bill.

Participants focused on the highlights of Hamilton's life and legacy, including his service as the first United States Secretary of the Treasury. Attendees explored his significant contributions to America's early financial and political systems, engaged in thoughtful discussions about leadership and civic responsibility, and reflected on how historical ideas can inspire positive change today.

Thanks to everyone who joined us and contributed their voices, curiosity, and energy to the event.

As part of the Freedom 250 commemoration, the American Center Monrovia hosted a documentary screening and discussion featuring Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, former First Lady of the United States of America. The program focused on her leadership, respect for human dignity, and her significant legacy as one of America's most influential diplomats. She played a crucial role in drafting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which remains one of the world's most important human rights documents today.

We welcomed 20 students from the Go Girls Lead mentorship organization, who learned about Roosevelt’s courage, civic engagement, and global perspective.

After the screening, participants took part in a dynamic dialogue about what leadership means today, both in Liberia and around the world.

To conclude the event, each student made a personal commitment to embody one leadership quality inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt, such as courage, compassion, integrity, or the ability to advocate for human dignity.
