LRA Engages Liberian Diaspora in Canada on Real Property Tax Compliance

The Liberia Revenue Authority joined the Liberian Association of Canada during its Independence Day celebration to educate members on real property tax registration, payment, and compliance.

Senior Tax Education Officer Martina E. Brooks represented the LRA in Canada, while Assistant Commissioner Isaac B. Stevens and Manager James B. Kokulo of the Taxpayer Services Division participated virtually, providing guidance on property tax obligations and available payment channels.

Members of the Liberian community welcomed the initiative, commending the LRA's outreach efforts and encouraging continued engagement with the diaspora community through future tax educational programs.

The engagement reflects the LRA's commitment to expanding taxpayer education and supporting Liberians both at home and abroad in meeting their real property tax obligations.

The Liberia Revenue Authority has launched a nationwide Change Readiness Tour to engage employees across all 15 counties as part of its ongoing institutional transformation.

The initiative will gather staff feedback, assess organizational readiness, and help shape the Authority's Enterprise Change Management Strategy while supporting key reforms such as LITAS, ASYCUDA World, VAT, and E-Invoicing.

Led by Benedict Tokpa Danuweli, Manager of the Enterprise Change Management Unit, the tour introduces employees to the four pillars of successful change People, Process, Systems, and Culture while reinforcing the LRA's core values of Service, Teamwork, Commitment, and Integrity. Employees will also nominate Change Champions to support communication and reform efforts within their offices.

By placing employees at the center of change, the LRA is building a stronger, more agile institution committed to delivering efficient, transparent, and citizen-focused tax and customs services.
