Deputy Master and Assistants Master of the High Court, drawn from all districts of the country, are today concluding a two-day workshop facilitated by the Master of the High Court. The training session was aimed at deepening their understanding of the application and interpretation of the Insolvency Act, which came into operation on 1 April 2025 following its gazettement under Legal Notice No. 49 of 2022.
The Act repeals the Insolvency Proclamation of 1957 and provides for the regulation of insolvency practice, corporate rescue, and cross-border insolvency, among other key areas.
This training forms part of the Judiciary’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and to ensure the effective, efficient, and consistent administration of insolvency matters across the country. It focused on enhancing technical knowledge, improving procedural efficiency, and promoting uniformity in the handling of insolvency cases.
This training has been made possible through the assistance of the EU.
