It is under the aegis of the Ministry of Arts and Culture and its budget is fully funded by the Government.

🎬 VERTICAL CONTENT CREATION WORKSHOP 2026 HIGHLIGHTS📱✨

The Mauritius Film Development Corporation (MFDC), under the aegis of the Ministry of Arts and Culture, successfully concluded its free 3-Day Vertical Content Creation Workshop, led by internationally experienced filmmaker, content strategist and digital media specialist Mr. Alwyn van den Heever.

Through an engaging blend of theory and hands-on practical sessions, participants gained industry-relevant skills in vertical storytelling, mobile-first production, filming, editing, AI-assisted content creation and digital publishing.

A special thank you to Mr. Alwyn van den Heever for sharing his expertise and inspiring the next generation of Mauritian content creators, and to Mr. Henry van der Berg of Reel Afrika (South Africa) for his valuable virtual guest contribution.

MFDC remains committed to empowering local talent and building a stronger, more innovative audiovisual industry for Mauritius.

Post-Production Fund: In-kind support valued at USD 50,000 (fiction/animation) · USD 35,000 (documentary), in partnership with White Light Studio
The director must be a citizen of a Southeast Asian country, and the primary production company must be registered in a SEA country (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste (East Timor), Vietnam).
