Otjiwarongo MUN

Otjiwarongo MUN As a Local Authority our mandate is to develop the town and uplift its community through the provision of basic services.

Otjiwarongo is considered as one of the oldest towns in Namibia. The town is located in central Namibia. It forms the route axis for trade and cargo movements from the Walvis Bay port to the rest of southern African countries. Otjiwarongo literally is the fork in the routes to the east, north and south of the country as well as across the border. Internationally Otjiwarongo is known as the Cheetah capital of the world and is home to some of the biggest cattle-breeding companies in Namibia. As a Local Authority our mandate is to develop the town and uplift its community through the provision of basic services, the promotion of the town as trade hub and attracting investors.

C38 ROAD REHABILITATION SITE HANDED OVER

The Municipality of Otjiwarongo today hosted the C38 Road Site Handover Meeting, bringing together the Municipality of Otjiwarongo, the Roads Authority (RA) and the Road Fund Administration (RFA).

The meeting marked an important step in the rehabilitation process of the C38 route towards Outjo, which has been identified among the strategic road infrastructure priorities for Otjiwarongo.

The engagement also provided an opportunity for the participating institutions to reaffirm their cooperation in addressing road infrastructure priorities in the town.

In his address, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mberipura Hifitikeko outlined the institutional process supporting the identified C38 and B1 interventions, including the continued collaboration between the Municipality, RFA and RA.

The formal site handover subsequently took place, marking the transition to the next stage of the process.

The Municipality appreciates the continued cooperation of the Road Fund Administration and Roads Authority, as well as the contribution of Council, municipal officials, technical teams and other stakeholders involved in the process.

The Municipality remains committed to ensuring that infrastructure priorities affecting Otjiwarongo continue to receive the necessary institutional attention and coordination.
