The Trust recently announced a fuel delivery surcharge of 5 cents per litre. For many years, the Trust has provided fuel delivery without charge.
To put the surcharge in context:
* A 200-litre delivery will cost an additional $10; and
* A 1,000-litre delivery will cost an additional $50.
This approach supports a lower diesel price at our Dough N Go bowser, which has had to cover the delivery costs to date. Recovering a small portion of the delivery cost from those using the service allows the Trust to maintain a lower fuel price for everyone, including people who do not receive fuel deliveries.
A reminder that deliveries can only be made when there is a good access track to the tank. Landowners are responsible for ensuring track overgrowth is controlled and that the truck wonโt get stuck. Landowners will be time-charged if these conditions arenโt met causing a delay for the driver.
We will continue to manage fuel pricing as carefully as possible given the volatility in wholesale prices. The Trustโs approach has benefited the community by cushioning some of the significant price spikes that can occur when new fuel supplies must be purchased.
A new diesel price announcement will also be made this week.
