Fyffe House Haere mai nai mai, welcome to Fyffe House the last visible remnants of the Waiopuka whaling station. You may scan in if you wish too.

Exposed to the elements, the little pink house, built partially on whale vertebrae, holds fascinating stories of whalers and whaling in early Kaikoura. We are open under level ORANGE and require mask wearing inside and hand sanitizing.

As part of this nationwide celebration of the sea Fyffe House has a program of 3 events. 'Instinctual Pathways' a new exhibition by Susie Baker and an installation on the lawn with work by local students and a talk on Albatross held at the Kaikoura Museum follow for more information.

On the subject of weather it was hot and sunny - a classic summer day for our free Waitangi Day Open Day . 182 Visitors enjoyed our History of Aotearoa New Zealand Flags display as well as exploring the house and playing old fashioned games on the Lawn.
