We need YOU to make our Colour Run & Family Festival amazing!

Mark your calendars—Sunday 8 November 2026 is going to be a day to remember at Lower Moutere School! We're planning a Colour Run and Family Festival that will bring our whole community together for fun, laughter and a splash of colour.

But here's the thing: we can't pull this off without you.

We're looking for sponsorship, prizes, spot prizes, vouchers, helping hands on the day—and yes, even help with the clean-up. Many hands make light work, and we know our whānau are up for it.

Here's what we need:

We'd love donations of any of the following:

Pre-cooked sausages, bacon, onions, bread, butter, tomato sauce
Fruit salad and ice cream
Paper plates, serviettes, hand towels
Oil, flour, dry yeast, sugar
Picnic tables, umbrellas, hay bales, gazebos

Kia ora whānau,

A quick but important reminder about road safety around our school at drop-off and pick-up times.

We've had reports this week of a couple of near-misses on the road outside school, with vehicles appearing to be travelling too fast during these busy periods. Our tamariki can be unpredictable—they get excited, they forget to look, they dart between cars. Even the most careful child can make a split-second decision that puts them in harm's way.

The speed limit around our school is 30km/h during these pick off and drop off hours for good reason. At that speed, drivers have time to react. At higher speeds, they don't.
Please slow down, stay alert, and help us keep every child safe. If you see someone driving dangerously near the school, please let us know so we can follow up.

Our kids are counting on us to get this right.

Well done to the Year 5/6 Girls Rugby that played and won all their games at the Tasman Rugby Tournament yesterday. Thanks Ria and Jolene for supporting them! Mustn't forget the Sportsmanship trophy they won! Being the best they can be!
