A wonderful opening for the Wednesday & Thursday Art Group exhibition was held on Sunday.

Thanks to all that attended and celebrated the talented group of local artists from the Ashburton Society of Arts.

⭐️ N E W E X H I B I T I O N ⭐️

This month’s exhibition is the Ashburton-based Wednesday & Thursday art group - three groups of keen artists who meet at the Short Street Gallery and Studio in Ashburton every Wednesday from 10am until 2pm. and Thursdays from 10am and evenings from 7pm.

The group’s artists do a range of artwork including painting, drawing, printmaking, using a variety of media i.e. oils, pastels, watercolours, acrylics, pen & ink, and printmaking. The subjects are many and varied.

Some members have been doing art for a number of years, and others are new to art. New and experienced artists are always welcome to come along and enjoy shared time with us.

An exhibition opening will be held at the gallery this Sunday (6th September) from 3pm. All welcome.

⭐️ N E W E X H I B I T I O N ⭐️

This month we have the talented Geraldine artist Bronwyn Heatlie exhibiting at our art gallery.

Bronwyn is inspired by the light and luminosity of colour and finds an emotional connection to when light and colour come together to create something profoundly beautiful.

She had been painting professionally for 25 years with her medium of choice being oils or acrylics.

She had exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and internationally and is a regular tutor at the Methven Summer School.

On for August!

❄️ Bring Cash, some stall holders will have eftpos but majority will be cash, and the raffle is cash.

⭐️ Speaking of raffles, we will be raffling off an incredible hamper of artisan arts and crafts generously donated by our smallholders. As well as an Ōpuke Thermal Pools and Spa voucher, a Ruralco - Your Farming Co-op voucher and a gift pack from Rumour Has It (donated by Proseed Processing Ltd).

❄️ groundcontrolespresso & Hooke's Donuts will be there to keep you warm.

⭐️ Preorders for A Lauriston Harvest , our cookbook fundraiser, will be available on the day. You will be able to have a sneak peek of some pages of the book we have been working so hard on and pop your name down to secure your copy.

❄️ It will be toasty warm inside the hall so come on down, support the amazing stallholders and our school.
