Timely Removal of Tactile Pavement in Lower Gen. Luna

The Barangay Lower Gen. Luna administration specifically thru the initiative of Kagawad Marvin Finuliar and the immediate response of Engineer Jerome Murff of DPWH took timely action in removing the tactile pavement along the area following nearly 10 days of continuous rain. The decision was made as a preventive safety measure after the pavement became increasingly slippery when wet, posing a potential hazard to pedestrians, particularly senior citizens, children, and other vulnerable residents.

The prompt removal helped eliminate the risk of slippage and related accidents in the area, especially during the ongoing rainy season. The initiative demonstrates the barangay’s commitment to addressing potential hazards before they result in injuries and ensuring the safety and convenience of the community.

The barangay continues to monitor public areas and implement necessary measures to maintain a safe, accessible, and accident-free environment for all residents and pedestrians.

Barangay Lower Gen. Luna and M-R Dental Supply Extend Assistance to Guisad Surong Landslide Victims

In a spirit of compassion and solidarity, Barangay Lower Gen. Luna, in partnership with M-R Dental Supply, extended relief assistance to families affected by the recent landslide in Guisad Surong, Baguio City.

Relief goods were distributed to affected families to help provide their immediate basic needs during this difficult time. This initiative reflects the commitment of Barangay Lower Gen. Luna and M-R Dental Supply to lend a helping hand to communities in need, especially during times of disaster and hardship.

The barangay expresses its heartfelt appreciation to M-R Dental Supply for its generosity and support. Together, we continue to uphold the spirit of bayanihan, compassion, and community solidarity.

BARANGAY LOWER GENERAL LUNA CONDUCTS RAINY SEASON SAFETY INSPECTION AND DENGUE PREVENTION CAMPAIGN

As part of the barangay’s continuing efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of the community during the rainy season, Barangay Lower General Luna yet again conducted an inspection and monitoring of trees within its Area of Responsibility that may pose a potential hazard due to heavy rains, strong winds, and saturated soil conditions.

Barangay personnel headed by Punong Barangay Ramir Isabelo, Kagawads Generoso Camba, Dennis Wabe, Michael Soriano, Isagani Camacho and Marvin Finuliar assessed susceptible trees and identified areas where falling branches or trees could potentially endanger residents, pedestrians, motorists, and nearby properties. Residents were likewise reminded to immediately report trees that appear weak, damaged, leaning, or at risk of falling so that appropriate action and coordination with concerned offices can be undertaken.

Alongside the safety inspection, the barangay also reminded residents to maintain cleanliness in and around their homes, particularly by cleaning and removing stagnant water from containers, flower pots, gutters, bottles, tires, and other areas that may serve as breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

Through continuous monitoring, preparedness, environmental cleanliness, and active cooperation from residents, Barangay Lower General Luna remains committed to protecting the community and promoting a safe, clean, and disaster-resilient barangay throughout the rainy season.

Monitoring of Areas of Responsibility During Typhoon Maymay

In response to the threat posed by Typhoon Maymay, Barangay Lower General Luna activated its monitoring and preparedness measures to ensure the safety and security of residents within its Areas of Responsibility (AOR). The Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee (BDRRMC), together with barangay officials conducted continuous monitoring of flood-prone, landslide-prone, and high-risk areas throughout the duration of the weather disturbance.

Regular inspections and roving patrols were carried out to assess road conditions, drainage systems, waterways, and other critical locations. Barangay personnel also maintained close coordination with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and other concerned agencies to ensure timely dissemination of weather updates and emergency information.

The barangay maintained open communication lines for emergency concerns and promptly responded to reports from residents. Although no major incidents were recorded within the barangay during the monitoring period, the continuous surveillance and proactive measures undertaken helped ensure public safety and strengthened the community’s preparedness against the effects of Typhoon Maymay.

Barangay Lower General Luna remains committed to safeguarding the welfare of its constituents through timely disaster preparedness, effective coordination, and continuous monitoring during adverse weather conditions.

Together, we made another positive impact on our community!

Earlier today, the officials and volunteers of Barangay Lower General Luna conducted our regular Barangay Kalinisan Day at Bautista-Anido Alley, where we successfully collected 12 kilograms of waste. This activity reflects our shared commitment to keeping our surroundings clean, safe, and healthy for everyone.

Every piece of litter collected is a step toward a cleaner environment. Let us continue working hand in hand and practicing proper waste disposal every day.

Ano ang RA 9003?

Ang Republic Act No. 9003 o ang Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 ay ang batas sa Pilipinas na nagtatakda ng mga alituntunin sa wastong pamamahala, pagbubukod (segregation), at pagbabawas ng basura upang maprotektahan ang kalusugan ng tao at ang kalikasan.

Hinihikayat namin ang bawat isa na sundin ang tamang pagbubukod ng basura. Pansa-nopen Tayo!

A clean barangay starts with a clean workplace. The officials and staff of Barangay Lower General Luna came together for our Barangay Kalinisan Day, cleaning and organizing the interior of the Barangay Hall to maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for everyone we serve.

Through teamwork and shared responsibility, we continue to uphold the values of cleanliness, discipline, and community service. Small efforts made consistently create a healthier and more efficient space for both our personnel and our constituents.

In celebration of the 2026 Nutrition Month with the theme, "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan," Barangay Lower General Luna proudly participated in the Nutrition Month Tree Planting Activity held last Friday at Forbes Park, South Drive, Baguio City.

Representing our barangay was our Committee Chair on Environment, SB Member Flores, who joined fellow participants in promoting environmental stewardship and raising awareness on the strong connection between a healthy environment, food security, and proper nutrition.

Through activities like this, we reaffirm our commitment to protecting our environment and creating a greener, healthier, and more sustainable community for present and future generations.

Together, let us continue to nurture both our people and our planet.
