Pinsao Elementary School Conducts Third SLAC Session and Faculty Meeting, Reinforcing Professional Growth and Learner Safety

On July 16, 2026, the teaching force of Pinsao Elementary School actively participated in the Third School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) Session, followed by a Faculty Meeting facilitated by the School Head, Junar M. Diguel, at the School Social Hall. The activity served as a meaningful platform for professional development, collaborative learning, and the dissemination of important school initiatives that support quality instruction and learner welfare.

The SLAC featured two timely and relevant topics that strengthened teachers' instructional competencies. Ms. Brigitte Marie A. Culaling shared Contextualized Strategies for Strengthening Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Across Grade Levels, providing practical approaches to improve learners' foundational skills. Meanwhile, Ms. Rizaline T. Cami-ing facilitated a session on Creating Trauma-Informed and Positive Learning Environments through Non-Violent Discipline, emphasizing the importance of fostering safe, inclusive, and learner-centered classrooms where every child feels respected, valued, and supported.

Following the SLAC, Sir Junar M. Diguel presided over the Faculty Meeting, highlighting Project GRACE (Growing Respect, Appreciation, Courtesy, and Empathy), a flagship initiative of the school alongside with the Kaagapay Program, that aims to strengthen values formation and cultivate a culture of respect, empathy, and responsible behavior among learners.

Sir Diguel likewise provided a comprehensive orientation on DepEd Order No. 6, s. 2026, emphasizing the need for teachers to give thorough reminders and continuous orientation to all learners regarding the provisions of the policy. He underscored the importance of ensuring that learners understand and faithfully observe the school's safety and security measures, including the Anti-Bullying Protocol, the Drop-and-Go Scheme for parents and guardians, bag inspection procedures, and the gate pass system. These measures are essential in maintaining a safe, orderly, disciplined, and learner-friendly school environment.

As part of the school's commitment to disaster preparedness, teachers were also reminded to ensure that every classroom is equipped with the necessary emergency resources, such as a Go Bag, First Aid Kit, and Family Reunification Logbook. These preparedness measures are expected to be readily available and properly maintained during earthquake drills and other emergency situations to safeguard the welfare of all learners.

The activity concluded with a renewed commitment from the faculty to uphold excellence in teaching, strengthen learner protection, and work collaboratively in fostering a school community anchored on respect, empathy, preparedness, safety, and shared responsibilityโ€”ensuring that every learner thrives in a secure and nurturing learning environment.
