Bonifacio Elementary School's Reading Month celebration featured a dynamic "Read to Lead, Succeed, and Proceed: A School-Based Read-a-Thon", organized by School Reading Coordinator Nacky F. Rodela took place on November 27, 2025. This event supported the National Reading Month theme: "Reading is a Bridge to a Future Full of Hope," emphasizing the transformative power of reading.
The program featured a lineup of learner‑centered activities designed to promote a love of reading across grade levels. Kinder through Grade 2 learners took part in a colourful Character Book Parade, bringing storybook characters to life. Grades 3 and 4 presented a session of story-telling, followed by interpretative reading by Grades 5 and 6 learners.
Ma'am Minerva M. Barachina, a passionate values advocate, captivated learners with storytelling sessions. Her interactive approach included follow-up questions designed to assess and enhance the learners' listening skills and reading comprehension.
Ma’am Armi A. Fiangaan, Education Program Supervisor for English, served as guest speaker. In her address she encouraged students to embrace reading using the acronym BOOK:
B — bright ideas you can find;
O — open your eyes and your mind;
O — onward to learning, you go!;
K — knowledge helps your future grow.
The event was also participated in by SPTA officers and barangay officials from nearby barangays, like Cresencia Village, Andres Bonifacio, and Guisad Surong.
The success of the Reading Month celebration was a result of the collaborative spirit and dedication of all the teachers at Bonifacio Elementary School. Their efforts before, during, and after the event ensured a meaningful and engaging experience for all learners.
