The Commission on Population and Development Cordillera Administrative Region (CPD CAR) invites all students, researchers, scientists, private organizations, Local Government Units, government and non-government organizations to send their research abstracts for this year's RCPD under the theme: "𝐴𝑑𝑣𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐻𝑢𝑚𝑎𝑛 𝐷𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝐴𝑐𝑟𝑜𝑠𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐿𝑖𝑓𝑒 𝐶𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑎 𝐿𝑖𝑓𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑅𝑒𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑛𝑠."

We are looking for regional innovations, local evidence, good practices, policy initiatives, research outputs, and community-based approaches under the following thematic areas:

𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍-focusing on learning, skills development, youth empowerment, and human capital formation;

𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇- focusing on health and well-being across the life course, including reproductive health, adolescent health and development, nutrition, healthy ageing, and access the quality health services; and

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐘-focusing on labor force participation,
employment, entrepreneurship, demographic dividend, migration, active ageing, and other factors that influence economic productivity and sustainable development.

LA TRINIDAD, BENGUET- During today's Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health (RPRH) Strengthening Program led by the Provincial Health Office of Benguet held at the Provincial Health Services Multipurpose Building, Commission on Population and Development Cordillera Administrative Region (CPD CAR) reaffirmed the agency's support for the local implementation of the RPRH Law in the province.

Regional Director Reynaldo O. Wong joined local stakeholders in a formal pledge of commitment and the ceremonial signing of the commitment wall. He delivered a message of support and recognized Benguet’s long-standing initiatives in advancing reproductive health and underscored the importance of sustained inter-agency collaboration to build a healthier, more informed, and empowered province.

BAGUIO CITY – The University of the Cordilleras (UC) and the Commission on Population and Development – Cordillera Administrative Region (CPD CAR) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on August 3, 2026 at the UC campus, formalizing a two-year partnership to integrate population and development education across the university's academic, research, and community extension programs.

UC Vice President for Administration and Student Services Dr. Rhodora A. Ngolob led the university contingent during the signing ceremony, alongside CPD CAR Regional Director Reynaldo O. Wong. The agreement, titled "Enhancing Human Capital Development through the Institutionalization of the Philippine Population and Development Plan of Action (PPD-POA) 2023-2028 Programs and Strategies in the University of the Cordilleras," aims to embed Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP), Reproductive Health Education (RHE), and Population and Development (POPDEV) principles into the university's core programs.

BAGUIO CITY — The Commission on Population and Development Cordillera Administrative Region (CPD CAR) and the University of the Philippines Baguio (UP Baguio) formalized their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on August 3,2026 at the University of the Philippines -Baguio.

CPD CAR Regional Director Reynaldo O. Wong and UP Baguio Chancellor Dr. Joel M. Addawe led the signing ceremony, marking the official launch of the project "Enhancing Human Capital Development through the Institutionalization of the Philippine Population and Development Plan of Action (PPD-POA) 2023-2028 Programs and Strategies in the University of the Philippines Baguio.

The agreement aims to institutionalize population and development (POPDEV), reproductive health, and responsible parenthood education within UP Baguio's curricular, research, leadership training, and community extension programs. It also seeks to strengthen the knowledge and practices of faculty, staff, and students on reproductive health, gender and development, and responsible parenthood, while promoting inclusive and culturally relevant education on migration, gender-based violence prevention, and integrated POPDEV.

The partnership underscores the shared commitment of CPD CAR and UP Baguio to harness the potential of adolescents and youth aged 10 to 19, enabling them to contribute to human capital and socio-economic development. It also responds to emerging concerns affecting young people, including adolescent pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, substance use, and other risky behaviors.

Piliin ang pinakamainam na family planning method na swak sa'yo.Huwag mahiya, bumisita sa pinakamalapit na Health center.Kumunsulta sa healthcare worker upang mabigyan ng alternatibong method.

The Commission on Population and Development – Cordillera Administrative Region (CPD-CAR), concluded a three-day training cm workshop on the Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) Program Design and Implementation Strategies held from July 28 to 30, 2026, at Villa Andrea Resort Hotel in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte.

The activity aimed to empower LGU-based Population Program Officers and Workers, alongside other stakeholders, with the necessary attitude, skills, and knowledge to exercise leadership in implementing strategies for the AHD program – a critical response to the province's escalating teenage pregnancy crisis.

The training comes at a crucial time for Apayao, which has consistently recorded the highest number of adolescent pregnancies in the Cordillera Administrative Region. Through this intensive training, the PLGU aims to translate that vision into reality by equipping its frontliners with the tools and competencies needed to reverse the troubling trend of teenage pregnancy in the province.
