The recognition was conferred for Carrascal’s exemplary performance in the timely submission of complete Financial Statements, ranking 9th among Local Government Units in the Province of Surigao del Sur, with the reports submitted five (5) days ahead of the prescribed deadline.

Present during the awarding ceremony was Municipal Mayor 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐡 𝐋. 𝐔𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐥, who expressed pride and appreciation for the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by the Municipal Accounting Office in upholding fiscal integrity and efficient public service.

This achievement signifies more than compliance, it is a testament to the competence, diligence, and unwavering commitment of the LGU workforce in ensuring that public funds are managed responsibly for the benefit of every Carrascalanon.

The Municipal Livelihood and Cooperative Development Committee (MLCDC) of the Local Government Unit of Carrascal convened to deliberate, refine, and finalize the framework which will govern implementation of locally funded livelihood projects aimed at strengthening sustainable economic opportunities for Carrascalanons.

The meeting was presided over by Municipal Mayor and Committee Chairperson, Hon. Joseph L. Urgel. During the session, the proposed guidelines were presented by the Municipal Cooperative Development Office (MCDO), headed by Office-In-Charge Mr. Edwin Johnlie M. Dalaguit.

The framework was anchored on established livelihood implementation models from various national government agencies, including the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), while being localized to ensure responsiveness and alignment with the immediate needs and conditions of the municipality.

Through this initiative, the Local Government Unit of Carrascal continues to advance its commitment to inclusive and sustainable livelihood development—ensuring that beneficiaries are provided not only financial assistance but also meaningful capacity development and empowerment to enhance self-reliance and long-term economic resilience.

A new generation of champions is taking shape in Carrascal.

The Local Government Unit of Carrascal, under the leadership of Hon. Joseph L. Urgel and Vice Mayor Vicente H. Piementel III, continues its strong commitment to youth development through the ongoing “Skill Up 2026” Summer Sports Camps—an initiative designed by the Municipal Youth Development Office (MYDO) to discover, train, and empower young Carrascalanons in the field of sports and athletic excellence.

From the hardcourt to the open field, young athletes are actively engaging in structured sports clinics and training sessions in basketball, pickleball, badminton, futsal, tennis, and other dynamic sporting events. More than just physical activity, the program instills discipline, teamwork, resilience, and the spirit of healthy competition.

Each dribble, serve, sprint, and strike becomes a stepping stone toward a bigger dream—building confidence, unlocking potential, and nurturing the next generation of local sports champions who will one day carry the pride of Carrascal on bigger arenas.

The LGU proudly witnesses how sports continues to inspire and unite the youth, shaping not only skilled athletes but responsible, determined, and goal-driven Carrascalanons ready to excel in life.
