TOP 5 REGIONAL MOST WANTED FOR MURDER FALLS IN CEBU CITY OPERATION

A major breakthrough in the campaign against fugitives was achieved after operatives of Police Station 5 of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) successfully arrested a Top 5 Regional Most Wanted Person facing a charge of murder during a warrant operation in Sitio Ermita Proper, Barangay Ermita, Cebu City, on May 29, 2026.

The suspect, known by the alias “Daryl,” was apprehended at approximately 11:30 a.m. by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 14, 7th Judicial Region, Cebu City, presided over by Judge Merlo Basco Bagano. The warrant, dated May 26, 2026, stemmed from a charge of Murder, a non-bailable offense.

The arrest represents a significant victory in the Philippine National Police’s intensified manhunt operations and underscores the unwavering commitment of law enforcement to ensuring that individuals facing serious criminal charges are brought before the courts. It likewise advances the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Safer Cities Initiative under the leadership of Secretary Jonvic Remulla, aimed at creating safer communities through decisive and sustained law enforcement action.

The operation also reflects the directive of Chief, PNP, PGEN JOSE MELENCIO C. NARTATEZ JR., to deliver Serbisyong Nararamdaman by strengthening public safety, enhancing police responsiveness, and ensuring the swift administration of justice.

Following his arrest, the accused was brought to the custodial facility of Police Station 5, CCPO, where he is temporarily detained pending his presentation before the issuing court.

Acting Regional Director of Police Regional Office 7, PBGEN ARNOLD E. ABAD, commended the operating personnel for their professionalism and dedication in carrying out the successful operation.

PRO7 SEIZES NEAR ₱4 MILLION WORTH OF SHABU, RECOVERS FI****MS IN 24-HOUR OPERATIONS

In line with the Philippine National Police's commitment to "Serbisyong Mabilis," the Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) intensified its anti-illegal drug and anti-criminality operations, resulting in the seizure of nearly ₱4 million worth of shabu and the recovery of loose fi****ms in separate operations across Central Visayas.

Based on the latest accomplishment report covering May 29 to 30, 2026, various PRO7 operating units confiscated a total of 586.03 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) with an estimated standard drug price value of ₱3,985,004.00, while also recovering six (6) loose fi****ms.

The biggest drug haul was recorded during a buy-bust operation conducted by the City Intelligence Unit (CIU) and City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Mandaue City Police Office at around 3:48 PM on May 29, 2026, in Lower Matimco, Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Arrested was alias "Matmat," 33 years old, a listed High-Value Individual (HVI) and resident of Barrio Luz, Barangay Carreta, Cebu City.

Seized from his possession were 500 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱3.4 million.

PBGEN Arnold E Abad, Acting Regional Director of PRO7, lauded the operating units for their successful operations and reaffirmed the region's commitment to the campaign against illegal drugs.

"The seizure of nearly ₱4 million worth of shabu and the recovery of loose fi****ms demonstrate our intensified efforts to keep illegal drugs and criminal elements off our streets. We will continue to conduct aggressive, intelligence-driven operations to ensure the safety and security of every community in Central Visayas," PBGEN Abad said.

Danao Police Arrest Provincial Top 8 Most Wanted Person Facing Sexual Assault Charges

An intensified manhunt operation conducted by personnel of the Danao City Police Station led to the arrest of the Top 8 Most Wanted Person at the provincial level and Top 5 Most Wanted Person at the municipal level for multiple counts of sexual assault in relation to Republic Act No. 7610 on May 22, 2026, in Barangay Cabungahan, Danao City, Cebu.

The operation was carried out by personnel of the Intelligence and Warrant Server Unit of Danao City Police Station through an intelligence-driven law enforcement operation.

Arrested was a 52-year-old widower and resident of Barangay Cabungahan, Danao City, Cebu, who was listed among the most wanted persons in Cebu Province.

Police authorities disclosed that the accused was apprehended by virtue of warrants of arrest for four counts of Sexual Assault in Relation to Section 5(B) of Republic Act No. 7610, otherwise known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act. The warrants were issued by the Family Court of the 7th Judicial Region in Danao City, Cebu, with a total recommended bail bond amounting to ₱400,000.00.

Authorities said the successful arrest was the result of intensified intelligence monitoring and tracking operations conducted by the operating team. Following his arrest, the accused was informed of the nature of his offense and his constitutional rights in accordance with the Miranda Doctrine.

The arrested individual is now under the custody of Danao City Police Station pending turnover to the issuing court for proper legal proceedings.

BADIAN POLICE ARREST WANTED PERSON FOR FRUSTRATED MURDER

The Badian Municipal Police Station arrested a wanted person during the implementation of an alias warrant of arrest on May 29, 2026, in Barangay Poblacion, Badian, Cebu.

Operatives of the Tracker Team of Badian MPS conducted the operation, which resulted in the arrest of a 56-year-old male facing charges for Frustrated Murder. The operation stemmed from an intelligence-driven law enforcement initiative spearheaded by the station’s Intel/MDEU and Warrant Serve.

The accused was apprehended by virtue of an alias warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court in Barili, Cebu, with recommended bail fixed at Php 15,000.00.

627 APPREHENDED IN CEBU PROVINCE AS SAFER CITIES INITIATIVE CONTINUES TO ENFORCE DISCIPLINE, PUBLIC ORDER

The Cebu Police Provincial Office sustained its intensified implementation of the Safer Cities Initiative, resulting in the apprehension of 627 individuals for various violations of local ordinances during anti-criminality operations conducted on May 29, 2026.

A total of 223 operations were carried out across the province, leading to the enforcement of ordinances against drinking in public places (103), smoking in public places (32), roaming the streets without shirts (31), curfew violations involving minors (65), videoke or karaoke violations beyond allowable hours (18), city and municipal traffic ordinance violations (374), and other local ordinance violations (4).

Of the total apprehended individuals, 374 were fined, while 253 were warned and released in accordance with existing local regulations. The operations generated ₱180,300.00 in fines and penalties.

The sustained enforcement campaign is being undertaken in support of the directive of Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Catibayan Remulla, who has consistently emphasized the importance of discipline, order, and community participation in maintaining safer communities. Through the strict implementation of local ordinances, authorities aim to prevent minor offenses from escalating into more serious crimes while fostering a culture of accountability among residents.

PCOL ABUBAKAR UDANG MANGELEN JR., Provincial Director of CPPO, underscored the significance of consistent ordinance enforcement as a crime prevention strategy.
“The Safer Cities Initiative is not merely about apprehending violators; it is about instilling discipline and promoting responsible behavior within our communities. By addressing disorderly conduct and enforcing local ordinances consistently, we create an environment that discourages criminal activity and enhances public safety. The positive impact of these efforts is reflected in the continued decline in the commission of crimes across the province,” Mangelen said.

Meanwhile, PBGEN ARNOLD EVANGELISTA ABAD, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 7, commended the dedication of Cebu police units in carrying out the initiative. “The accomplishments of CPPO demonstrate that proactive policing and strong community engagement are effective tools in preserving peace and order. Carcar Police Arrest Wanted Person for Illegal Numbers Game Violation

An intelligence-driven law enforcement operation conducted by personnel of the Carcar City Police Station resulted in the arrest of an Other Wanted Person (OWP) for violation of illegal gambling laws on May 22, 2026, in Barangay Liburon, Carcar City, Cebu.

The operation was carried out by operatives of the Intelligence Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit, and Warrant Server Team of Carcar City Police Station.

Arrested was a 39-year-old male resident of Barangay Liburon, Carcar City, Cebu.

Police authorities disclosed that the accused was apprehended by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 in relation to Section 3(C) of Republic Act No. 9287, involving illegal numbers game operations. The warrant stemmed from the accused’s failure to appear during scheduled court hearings and was issued by the Regional Trial Court, 7th Judicial Region, Branch 23, Cebu City, with no bail recommended.

Following his arrest, the accused was informed of the nature of his offense and his constitutional rights in accordance with the Miranda Doctrine. He is presently under the custody of Carcar City Police Station pending turnover to the issuing court.

SANTANDER POLICE SEIZE ILLEGAL FIREARM, AMMUNITION, AND SUSPECTED SHABU IN SEARCH WARRANT OPERATION

A joint anti-criminality operation conducted by personnel of Santander Municipal Police Station which resulted in the arrest of the suspect and the confiscation of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, and suspected illegal drugs during the implementation of a search warrant in Barangay Talisay, Santander, Cebu on May 19, 2026.

The operatives implemented a court-issued search warrant at the residence of a 48-year-old male suspect located in Barangay Talisay, Santander, Cebu.

Confiscated during the operation were one caliber .38 revolver, four live ammunition for a caliber .38 revolver, one camouflage sling bag, two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, and one green tabular plastic.

The suspect was immediately taken into police custody while the recovered evidence was properly inventoried and documented in the presence of mandatory witnesses in accordance with existing police operational procedures.

Authorities are now preparing the filing of appropriate charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
