May 1, 2026โThe City Government of Digos, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI Davao del Sur and the Sangguniang Kabataan Council of Barangay Tres de Mayo, successfully held the 124th Labor Day Job Fair at Gaisano Grand Mall, Digos City, in line with the theme, โDisenteng Trabaho Para sa Lahat: Iisang Hangarin, Bagong Pilipinas, Sama-samang Mararating.โ
Barangay Tres de Mayo SK Chairman Leonard Dominic Labajo delivered the opening remarks, followed by a message from City Mayor Josef Fortich Cagas, expressing his continued support for job seekers and his hope that the activity would open meaningful opportunities for Digoseรฑos and applicants from neighboring municipalities. The message was delivered by Manolito Amandoron from the City Mayorโs Office.
Provincial Director Leo Ariel A. Pepino of the Davao del Sur Field Office also shared words of inspiration, encouraging applicants to remain proactive and resilient in pursuing employment opportunities. PESO Manager Shany Lou Solatorio then officially declared the job fair open.
Among the notable attendees was Lone District Representative of Davao del Sur, Atty. John Tracy Cagas, who graced the event to show his continued support for employment initiatives and programs that uplift the welfare of the people.
A total of 19 companies and government agencies participated in the job fair. Among the national agencies that provided services during the event were the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), PAG-IBIG, PhilHealth, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Social Security System (SSS), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Through initiatives like this, the City Government of Digos under the leadership of Mayor Josef Cagas continues to strengthen its commitment to providing employment opportunities and accessible government services, empowering Digoseรฑos toward sustainable livelihoods and a brighter future.
