Congratulations to the Simone Elementary School Scouters for achieving 2nd Runner-Up in the Old Kaabakan Cluster Patrol Leader Training Course (PLTC) held at Siento Trenta Elementary School on August 21–23, 2026.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication, discipline, teamwork, and perseverance of our young scouts.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Anthony Jhon Grandia , BSP Coordinator, and Ms. Humaiyah M. Minto , GSP Coordinator, for their guidance and commitment. Our sincere appreciation also goes to all permanent and volunteer teachers whose unwavering support and cooperation contributed greatly to this success.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Kag.Mike Ganoy for facilitating the ride of our scouters through Mr. Tohamie Singayan

Special thanks are likewise extended to all parents and guardians who supported their children throughout the activity, especially those who stayed at the venue for the entire three days and two nights. "Beyond Distance, Beyond Barriers: The Rise of Kumotan-Tayag Primary School"

On January 25, 2025, the teachers of Simone Elementary School, headed by the newly designated School Head Maraina M. Badrudin, together with Simone Elementary School-Parents and Teachers Association President Jerry Sudang and Barangay Councilor Hon. Mike Ganoy, conducted an Early Registration and Child Mapping Caravan. This initiative was part of the Department of Education's annual program, implemented in the Bangsamoro Region through the Bangsamoro Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), to ensure that every child has access to education.

The group traveled to the farthest area of Barangay Simone—Sitio Kumotan, located approximately six kilometers from the main school. Along the way, they witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by children who travel daily to attend classes at Simone Elementary School. The long distance and slippery roads during the rainy season made them realize the hardships endured by learners from the community.

Upon arriving in Sitio Kumotan, the team received a warm welcome from parents and residents. Through meaningful conversations, parents shared their aspirations and sacrifices to provide their children with an education. The teachers also registered incoming kindergarten pupils and out-of-school children who wished to return to school.

During the consultation, the idea of establishing an extension school emerged, initially offering Kindergarten and Grade I classes. In response, the BLGU of Simone, together with the school administration and the PTA, immediately submitted a request to the SDO-SGA and the MBHTE Regional Office in May 2025.

Alhamdulillah, opening of the school was granted to open Kindergarten and Grade I classes for School Year 2025–2026. During its first year of operation, Ms. Amraida M. Tayag voluntarily served as the teacher for 38 learners.

In the current School Year 2026–2027, Grade II has been added to the school, and Mrs. Helen S. Tumindeg is temporarily assigned as the Kindergarten teacher while Ms Amraida M. Tayag handled grade Iand II. At present, Kumotan-Tayag Primary School, the extension school of Simone Elementary School, serves 54 learners.

This achievement demonstrates what can be accomplished when the school, local government, and community work together toward a common goal. May this initiative continue to fulfill the aspirations of parents and provide every child in the community with the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future.

In celebration of the 2026 Nutrition Month, Simone Elementary School successfully conducted its Nutrition Month Culmination Program on July 30, 2026, at the school grounds. The activity aimed to raise awareness on proper nutrition, promote healthy eating habits, and emphasize the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle among learners, teachers, parents, and stakeholders.
