POLICE VISIBILITY/PRESENCE AND BEAT/FOOT PATROL IN SCHOOLS AROUND PS4 AOR.
On or about 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM of August 19, 2026, personnel of Police Station 4 (PS4), Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO), under the direct supervision of PMAJ ALLEN JUNE R. GERMODO, Acting Station Commander, PS4, LCPO, conducted police visibility, police presence, and beat/foot patrol operations in various schools within the station's Area of Responsibility (AOR) in connection with Balik Eskwela 2026–2027.
The deployment was conducted as a proactive crime prevention and public safety measure to maintain peace and order, deter criminal activities, and ensure the safety and security of students, parents, teachers, school personnel, and other stakeholders. Police visibility within and around school premises serves as an important deterrent against potential criminal activities by increasing the perceived risk of apprehension and discouraging individuals from committing unlawful acts.
Moreover, the activity aimed to strengthen the partnership between the PNP and educational institutions by promoting open communication, information sharing, and coordinated crime prevention efforts. Through regular coordination with school administrators, teachers, security personnel, and barangay officials, potential security concerns can be identified and addressed at an early stage, thereby contributing to the establishment of a safer and more secure learning environment.
ACTIONS TAKEN:
a. Conducted continuous police visibility and beat/foot patrol within and around school premises to deter criminal activities and ensure safety.
b. Maintained close coordination with school authorities, security personnel, and barangay officials for effective crime prevention and emergency response.
c. Increased police presence during student arrival and dismissal and remained alert for suspicious persons, activities, and security threats.
d. Encouraged stakeholders to promptly report suspicious activities and possible threats to the police.
e. Strengthened police-school partnership as a proactive measure to prevent crimes and maintain a safe and secure learning environment, particularly in light of recent school shooting incidents.
The conduct of the activity demonstrated the commitment of PS4, LCPO to maintaining a safe and secure environment for the school community. Sustained police visibility, strengthened coordination with educational institutions, and active community participation are essential in preventing future crimes, deterring potential offenders, enhancing emergency preparedness, and safeguarding the lives and welfare of students, teachers, and school personnel.
