The Regional Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO) V and the Department of Education (DepEd) Region V DepEd Regional Office No. V held a meaningful meeting on August 12, 2026, to strengthen collaboration in promoting legal adoption, alternative child care, and child-focused programs for learners, teachers, and non-teaching personnel.

The discussion highlighted the importance of raising awareness of Republic Act No. 11222, or the Simulated Birth Rectification Act (SIBRA), children's rights, alternative child care, and the programs and services of RACCO V. It also emphasized bringing these advocacies closer to schools and local communities.

Both agencies agreed to identify key topics, schedules, and platforms where child care advocacy can be integrated, including PTA meetings, INSET, GAD activities, LearnCon, Kaagapay, and other DepEd initiatives.

This collaboration is expected to strengthen child protection advocacy, promote legal adoption and alternative child care, and foster a more child-sensitive school and community environment.๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ

๐…๐„๐€๐“๐”๐‘๐„ ๐’๐“๐Ž๐‘๐˜ || After two years and six months, the childโ€™s journey in foster care with the Spouses Alaurin, who lovingly cared for her as her foster parents, has finally come to an end. But a new journey toward permanency begins for the child.

On Monday, August 10, 2026, the long-awaited day finally came. The child met her adoptive parents for the first time, while the Spouses Alaurin faced one of the most bittersweet moments of their journey as foster parents, the moment of saying goodbye to the child they had welcomed into their home and hearts.

Here are the heartfelt words of the Spouses Alaurin:

โ€œGanito po talaga ang pagiging foster parents. Kahit na napamahal na sa amin ang bata at naging parte na ng aming pamilya, kailangan namin siyang ipaubaya sa kanyang bagong pamilya. Para kay [bata], mami-miss ka namin nang sobra. Tandaan mo na kami ang pamilya mo dito sa Pilipinas. Mahal na mahal ka namin. Ingat ka diyan at huwag mo kaming kakalimutan.โ€ โ€” Spouses Alaurin

The Regional Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO) V successfully facilitated the entrustment of a child to her adoptive parents under the Intercountry Adoption Program on August 10, 2026.

After a journey that crossed borders, the adoptive parents from Spain flew all the way to the Philippines to finally meet and welcome the child destined to become part of their family.

This is the beauty of adoption: seeing hearts find each other, even when miles apart and separated by language and culture. It is a reminder that love knows no borders and that, despite the distance and differences, a child and her adoptive parents can find their way to one another, ready to begin their forever as a family.

RACCO V would also like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the childโ€™s foster parents, who opened their hearts and home and lovingly cared for her for two years and six months while awaiting the completion of the adoption process.
