HRMU–SPECIAL SERVICE COMMAND AND OTHER HRMUs CONDUCT COASTAL CLEAN-UP DRIVE

LOOK: The Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC), through the Human Resource Management Unit–Special Service Command (HRMU-SSC) and other HRMUs, successfully conducted a Coastal Clean-Up Drive at Riverview, Baseco, Barangay 649, Zone 68, Port Area, Manila, on 20 August 2026.

The activity aimed to promote environmental awareness, strengthen community engagement, and contribute to the preservation of our coastal areas. Through the collective efforts of Coast Guard personnel, the activity helped remove accumulated waste and debris while fostering a culture of discipline, responsibility, and environmental stewardship.

The initiative reflects the Philippine Coast Guard’s commitment to serving not only as protectors of our maritime domain but also as responsible partners in building cleaner, safer, and more sustainable communities.

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤: The Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC) commemorates its 9th Founding Anniversary, on 17 August 2026 aboard the Headquarters Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (HCGHRMC), Yeoman Classroom, with the theme, “𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞-𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬: 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.”

The anniversary celebration was presided over by 𝐕𝐀𝐃𝐌 𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐍 𝐉 𝐃𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐂𝐆, 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫, 𝐂𝐆𝐇𝐑𝐌𝐂, who highlighted the vital role of human resources in strengthening the Philippine Coast Guard’s organizational capability and ensuring that its personnel remain prepared to meet the evolving demands of maritime service.

The celebration served as an opportunity to reflect on the Command’s accomplishments and reaffirm its commitment to developing a competent, responsive, and future-ready workforce. It also recognized the dedication and exemplary performance of personnel and units that contributed significantly to the accomplishment of the CGHRMC’s mission.

A major highlight of the celebration was the presentation of awards to outstanding units and personnel for their exceptional performance and contribution to human resource management.

For the 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫, recognition was conferred upon the 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐂𝐆𝐑𝐁𝐀𝐒) and the 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐇𝐑𝐏𝐂) for their outstanding delivery of core human resource functions and services.

The 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 (𝐇𝐑𝐌𝐒) was recognized as the 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫, acknowledging its contribution to personnel development, capability building, and the continuous professional growth of Coast Guard personnel.

The recognition of these awardees underscored the CGHRMC’s belief that organizational excellence is anchored on people who consistently demonstrate professionalism, integrity, competence, and dedication to duty.

In line with its anniversary theme, CGHRMC emphasized the importance of continuously advancing its human resource systems, strengthening personnel capabilities, and fostering a culture of performance and excellence. Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, expressed the PCG’s profound gratitude to President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr. for his recognition of the dedication and sacrifices of Coastguardians in ensuring the safety and security, especially of Filipino fisherfolk, in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) during his State of the Nation Address (SONA) today, July 27, 2026.

"The President's commendation is a tribute to every Coastguardian who faithfully performs his or her duty under challenging circumstances. It inspires us to continue serving with courage and unwavering commitment to our mandate of protecting the Filipino people and advancing our national interests at sea," Admiral Gavan said.

The PCG Commandant emphasized that the recognition reinforces the PCG’s resolve to fulfill its mandate in support of the Bagong Pilipinas vision of President Marcos, one that strengthens national resilience and promotes stability through responsible maritime governance.

He added that while the PCG remains steadfast in protecting the country's maritime rights and ensuring maritime safety, it continues to carry out its mission with professionalism and full respect for international law.

Admiral Gavan also underscored that the Coast Guard's operational efforts are guided by its Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement (iCARE) campaign and the Organized National Engagement (ONE) at Sea strategic concept which reflect the PCG’s commitment to serving with integrity and accountability.
