Setting a remarkable standard in firefighter rescue skills, Team BFP Philippines secured 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 in the Denver Drill during the 2026 China Fujian Sanming Fireground Survival Challenge held on October 21, 2026, in Sanming, China.

Representing BFP Region 6, FO2 John Henry I Oducado joined Team Philippines in this specialized challenge, one of the three events in the international competition.

The Denver Drill is a demanding Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) maneuver that tests firefighters’ ability to rescue an incapacitated or trapped firefighter from a tight, confined space and safely extract them through an elevated window. It requires exceptional strength, technical proficiency, coordination, and teamwork under pressure.

With an outstanding score of 510.0 points, Team Philippines emerged at the top of the standings, showcasing the competence, resilience, and world-class capabilities of Filipino firefighters on the international stage.

Congratulations to Team BFP Philippines, especially FO2 John Henry I Oducado of BFP Region 6, for this remarkable achievement!

The visit provided the young learners with a fun, interactive, and educational experience, allowing them to explore the fire station, gain firsthand knowledge of firefighting equipment, and discover the important roles and responsibilities of firefighters. Through this meaningful activity, the children were also introduced to the importance of fire safety awareness, prevention, and emergency preparedness.

Pavia Fire Substation is grateful to have been part of this memorable learning experience, fostering curiosity, building awareness, and inspiring young minds to appreciate the values of courage, discipline, and public service.
