SOCIAL WELFARE LICENSURE EXAMINATION (SWLE) REVIEW/COACHING SESSION

To support our future licensed Social Workers, the Human Resource Management and Development Service – Learning and Development Division (HRMDS-LDD), successfully conducted the Social Welfare Licensure Examination (SWLE) Review/Coaching Session on 2 September 2026 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM via Google Meet.

A total of 184 participants from the DSWD Central Office and DSWD Field Offices gathered virtually to sharpen their knowledge and gain valuable test-taking insights.

The session was led by Mr. Joseph R. Salavarria, Social Welfare Officer IV and Section Chief of the Other Marginalized Groups-Pilot Implementation Section of the Social Technology Bureau-Pilot Implementation Division, as the resource person, who shared his knowledge and expertise to provide useful pointers and elevate readiness for the upcoming Social Worker Licensure Examination, scheduled on September 9–11, 2026.

This initiative underscores the DSWD’s commitment to the continuous professional development of its social welfare workforce and to supporting employees in achieving professional excellence.

HRMDS-PADTalks 7th Session: Separation, Clearance, and Exit Administration

How we treat employees on their last day matters just as much as how we welcome them on their first!

On 1 September 2026, the HRMDS-Personnel Administration Division (PAD) gathered for the 7th Session of HRMDS-PADTalks, focusing on Separation, Clearance, and Exit Administration. The resource persons, Ms. Marjorie Ann Garcia, Ms. Madeline Salamat, and Ms. Jenny Atacador, provided insights beyond the administrative requirements. They imparted that proper offboarding is a vital means and good practice for risk management, knowledge transfer, and preserving our organizational culture. Ms. Red Enriquez, Chief of the PAD, warmly welcomed the participants to the session, while Ms. Andrea Banay served as the facilitator.

DSWD gives updates on disaster response, explains procedures on food pack procurement in Media Forum

Officials of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Thursday (September 3), presented updates on ongoing disaster response efforts and explained the relief goods procurement processes during the weekly DSWD Media Forum.

Asst. Secretary Leo Quintilla of the DSWD's Resource and Logistics Management (RLM) reported the continuous relief operations for communities affected by typhoons , , , and the enhanced southwest monsoon, highlighting coordination with other agencies to ensure uninterrupted transport of goods.

Administrative Service (AS) Director Atty. Karina Antonette Agudo, concurrently Procurement Management Division (PMD) Officer-in-Charge (OIC) explained the Department's procurement process to address issues circulating online regarding the cost of a family food pack (FFP).

The Media Forum, held weekly at the DSWD Central Office’s New Press Center, is hosted by Special Assistant to the Secretary (SAS) for Communications Raymond Burgos. (KI)

DSWD Conducts Agency Orientation for Newly Hired Personnel

The Human Resource Management and Development Service (HRMDS), through the Learning and Development Division (LDD), successfully conducted the August Batch of the Agency Orientation for Newly Hired Personnel Google Meet, attended by 28 participants composed of employees holding Career, Non-Career, and Contract of Service (COS) positions.

The orientation introduced the new employees to DSWD’s programs, services, policies, values, and responsibilities as public servants. They also learned about work ethics, proper handling of information, digital security, and DSWD’s major programs and services.

With new knowledge and a strong commitment to public service, the Department warmly welcomes its newest team members and looks forward to their meaningful contributions in advancing DSWD’s mission to improve the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged sectors through responsive, caring, and compassionate public service.

DSWD KICKS OFF NATIONAL PEACE CONSCIOUSNESS MONTH 2026 🇵🇭

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) kicked off the observance of National Peace Consciousness Month (NPCM) during its flag ceremony at the DSWD Central Office on Tuesday (September 1).

In a message delivered on behalf of Secretary REX Gatchalian, Undersecretary Evelyn Aribon of the Office of the Secretary Group (OSG) highlighted the Department’s commitment to promoting peace and strengthening social protection, particularly in conflict-affected communities, through the Peace and Development – Buong Bansa Mapayapa (PDBBM) Program.

The month-long observance also highlights the DSWD’s contribution to peacebuilding through social case management, cash-for-work opportunities, livelihood support, and other interventions that help communities move toward lasting peace.

Joining the kickoff were Undersecretary Justine Orden of the General Administration and Support Services Group (GASSG), Undersecretary Monina Josefina Romualdez of the Operations Group, Asst. Secretary Leo Quintilla of the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB), Asst.
