🚨 STOP SALEX NOW! PROTECT OUR HERITAGE, ENVIRONMENT, AND FUTURE! ✊🌿

Hindi natin kailangang isakripisyo ang ating kasaysayan, kalikasan, at kinabukasan para sa isa na namang expressway!

The proposed Southern Access Link Expressway (SALEX) threatens our communities, cultural heritage, and remaining green spaces across Metro Manila.

At a time when our cities are already suffering from worsening floods, extreme heat, traffic congestion, and air pollution, building another car-centric expressway is not the solution.

Development should not come at the expense of people and the environment. We deserve cities that prioritize people over cars, protect our shared heritage, and build a climate-resilient future for everyone.

Centering the design conversation in Negros!

We were thrilled to partner with Arts and Design Collective for its first-ever hosting of Negros Design Week in Silay City.

Celebrating the theme “50/50: A Hundred Years of Design,” the festival looked back at the last 50 years of design while imagining what the next 50 years will bring.

Here are our highlights from an incredible week:

- Heritage for the Future: In partnership with the Arts and Design Collective, trustees, Ar. Timothy Ong and Engr. Jero Galler-Pascual, presented their visions and research on safeguarding heritage for the generations to come.

- Advocacy in Action: Visitors stopped by the HCS booth to learn about our initiatives, including our petition to declare the Pasig River a National Cultural Treasure and the environmental dangers facing our heritage sites from PAREX and SALEX.

- Culture & Champions: From living history & slow food talks and Silay walking tours to Masskara making and Filipino dance, we immersed ourselves in local culture. Mikaela Burbano of Very Good team hosted a gorgeous Table Setting event. Huge congratulations to our Trustee, Berly Locsin, for taking home the championship in the Sungka competition!

Catching the design wave next? If you are in Dumaguete this weekend, don't miss Negros Design Week at the Bamboo Pavilion!
