Maging familiar sa mga karaniwang maling kuro-kuro patungkol sa mga programang nakatugon sa pag papabuti ng kalidad ng buhay sa pamamagitan ng pagbabawas ng kahirapan, kahinaan, at hindi pagkakapantay-pantay sa lipunan.

Matapos ayusin ang mga kailangan para tuloy tuloy ang pagbibigay ng UPLIFT assistance, magsisimula na uli ang payout para sa Groups 2 and 3 ng beneficiaries. Simula September 14 to October 16, 2026, maibibigay ang UPLIFT assistance para sa buwan ng August.

Para sa mga nasa Group 2, magkakaroon ng manual payout sa nasabing petsa para mabigyan ng karagdagang panahon ang mga beneficiaries na magkaroon ng National ID at bank or e-wallet accounts na gagamitin para sa mga susunod na buwan ng UPLIFT assistance. Hinihikayat ang lahat na gamitin itong pagkakataon na ito na matapos ang registration ng national ID at accounts.

Para sa mga nasa Group 3, uunahin mabayaran ang mga SSS members na sumunod na sa abiso ng SSS na mag-update ng account or mag-activate ng dormant accounts. Pagkatapos nito, magpapatuloy ang pagbabayad ng UPLIFT assistance para sa August. Sa mga qualified beneficiaries na hindi nabayaran noong July pero nakapagcomply na sa pag-update ng Disbursement Account Enrolment Module (DAEM) sa loob ng deadline na itinalaga ng SSS, isusunod na ang pagbabayad ng UPLIFT assistance para sa buwan ng August. Ang layunin ay matapos ang pag-credit hanggang October 16, 2026.

Happy National Social Protection Month!

Tuwing Setyembre, ipinagdiriwang ng bansa ang Social Protection Month. Ito ay naka-angkla sa Proclamation No. 820 ng Pangulo na idineklara noong March 06, 2025.

Ang social protection ay ang mga programa, polisya at inisyatibo ng gobyerno na nakatugon upang matulungan ang mga bulnerableng mamayang pilipino sa mga iba’t ibang klaseng mga panganib tulad ng:

Pagkakasakit, pagtanda, pagkawala ng trabaho, kalamidad at iba pa

Layunin nitong matiyak na may sapat na suporta ang bawat bulnerableng mamayan upang mabuhay nang matiwasay, maka-ahon sa hirap, at maging ligtas sa mga sakuna.

DSWD Assistant Secretary for Policy and Planning and Co-Spokesperson Juan Carlo V. Marquez, in a phone interview with UNTV’s Bantay Habagat Special Coverage on 30 August 2026, provided an update on the Department’s ongoing relief and response efforts for families and individuals affected by the combined effects of the Enhanced Southwest Monsoon and Tropical Cyclones “Luis,” “Maymay,” and “Neneng.”

Assistant Secretary Marquez emphasized that the Department maintains sufficient prepositioned Family Food Packs (FFPs) and Food and Non-Food Items (FNIs) at its Disaster Resource Centers. He further highlighted that the DSWD, through its Field Offices (FOs), continues to coordinate closely with affected Local Government Units (LGUs) to monitor developments on the ground, assess emerging needs, and facilitate the timely delivery of appropriate assistance to affected communities.

He also underscored the Department’s continuing efforts to safeguard the welfare and protection of internally displaced persons (IDPs). Through Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and dedicated IDP protection mechanisms, the DSWD works with affected LGUs to ensure that the needs of displaced families are addressed while supporting ongoing response and early recovery programs.

DSWD PRESS RELEASE: Procurement for food packs goes through transparent, competitive process – DSWD chief

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary REX Gatchalian on Monday (August 31) debunked a viral post of a netizen in Facebook who alleged that the cost of the contents of each family food packs (FFPs) was more than Php1,500.

Stressing that the procurement of FFPs undergoes a transparent and competitive bidding process, the DSWD chief said the viral post was a clear case of misinterpretation and ‘fake news’ since the actual cost of the contents of each FFP is less than Php800. (AKDL)

A Dialogue for Stronger Local Governance

Undersecretary Atty. Adonis P. Sulit served as a Resource Speaker during the Special Policy Dialogue on “Clarifying National Policies for Effective Local Governance” at the 2026 Luzon Island Cluster Conference of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) in Iloilo City.

During the dialogue, Undersecretary Sulit discussed the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) and shared key information on its objectives and implementation. The activity provided an opportunity to help strengthen the understanding of municipal leaders on national policies and programs that can support local governments in responding to the needs of their communities.

The dialogue also brought together local chief executives and representatives from national government agencies, highlighting the value of continued coordination between national and local governments toward more responsive public service.
