Every child deserves more than hope. Every child deserves opportunities backed by sound policies and meaningful action.

At the Southeast Asia Regional Conference on Child Poverty: From Measurement to Policy and Action, Undersecretary Adonis P. Sulit emphasized that addressing child poverty is a shared responsibility that requires stronger policies, sustained collaboration, and concrete action.

Co-organized by UNICEF and the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev), the Conference brought together government leaders, researchers, development partners, and social policy practitioners from across Southeast Asia. The discussions focused on sharing good practices and identifying practical solutions to reduce child poverty in all its dimensions.

As the Philippines continues to champion a people-centered ASEAN, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, under the leadership of Secretary Rex Gatchalian, remains committed to advancing social protection and promoting policies that help every child grow in a safe and nurturing environment.

🤝 A Bigger PPG Family!

The Policy and Planning Group (PPG) warmly welcomes the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Information and Communications Technology and Chief Information Officer (OASICT-CIO) and the Information and Communications Technology Management Service (ICTMS) as they officially become part of the Group.

Under the leadership of Undersecretary Atty. Adonis P. Sulit, the PPG likewise extends a warm welcome to Assistant Secretary Johannes Paulus Acuña, Director IV Rachel Ann P. Grabador, Director III Atty. Divine Kristine Leaño, and personnel of the OASICT-CIO and ICTMS.

As part of the PPG, these offices will continue to carry out their respective mandates and functions while contributing to the Group's efforts in advancing responsive policies and digital transformation in support of improved public service delivery.

Ito si Rodolfo Verceles, 70 taong gulang, mula sa Bayambang, Pangasinan, isang dating magsasaka at kasalukuyang benepisyaryo ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). Isa si Rodolfo sa mga nagpapasalamat dahil madali niyang naberipika ang kanyang pagkakakilanlan at pagiging benepisyaryo ng DSWD sa pamamagitan ng Basta Beripikado, Mabilis ang Serbisyo (BBM Serbisyo).

Hinihikayat din niya ang kanyang mga kapwa DSWD beneficiaries na magpa-beripika gamit ang BBM Serbisyo.

Strengthening DSWD Through AYOS! The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through the Technical Working Group on Organizational Development (TWG-OD) chaired by Undersecretary Atty. Adonis P. Sulit, CESO II and co-chaired by Undersecretary Atty. Edward Justine R. Orden, conducted the Orientation on the Government Optimization Program (GOP) and Its Requirements as part of the DSWD Angkop at Naaayon na Organizational Structure at Workforce (AYOS) campaign.

Organized by the Internal Audit and Management Service (IAMS) and the Human Resource Management and Development Service (HRMDS) as the Acting Secretariat of the TWG-OD, the orientation equipped DSWD officials and focal persons with the knowledge and requirements needed to support the implementation of the Government Optimization Act (Republic Act No. 12231) and advance organizational reforms toward a more efficient, responsive, and future-ready DSWD.

The two-day Conference, officially opened by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, brought together ASEAN Member States, development partners, and key stakeholders to strengthen regional cooperation and shape the future of social protection beyond 2025.
