Philippine Army Congratulates Charly Suarez on WBO International Title Victory

Filipino Olympian and Philippine Army soldier Corporal Charly Coronel Suarez delivered a dominant first-round knockout victory over American Manuel Avila on July 19 (Philippine time) at the Orange Show Events Center in San Bernardino, California, to capture the WBO International Super Featherweight Championship.

Returning to the ring after more than a year, Suarez showcased his precision and power, stopping Avila in the opening round to improve his unbeaten professional record to 19 wins with 11 knockouts. The victory strengthens his bid for another world title opportunity following his controversial 2025 bout against Emanuel Navarrete, which was later ruled a no contest by the World Boxing Organization.
