Team GDP: A true story of Patriotism, Professionalism and Compassion from the land of Pakhtoons, spreaded over more than a decade
The Construct of Economic Accounts in a challenging environment of militancy and experts with only guesses about the provincial economy KP. This was the time when planning for provincial economy was based upon proxies instead of real time data.This is a story of determination, integrity and patriotism of a team of young, professional and energetic economists and statisticians who decided to promote evidence based decision making in the public sector of their homeland. This started 10 years ago when I joined Team GDP and led them to their first ever data collection activity through conducting the "Agricultural Input-Output Survey", and then we conducted 46 surveys and got on record the first ever economic base year of KP 2015-16. Today we are working for the first revision of our base year 2025-26. Alhamdulillah.

In this process, for 10 years. We worked religiously with challenges like designing the task ,reaching out to no go areas, meeting deadlines, late sittings, sometimes 100 hours run in a row, yelling, fixing,trouble shooting and everything that was needed.
